A 29 Point Comeback?
The Pac-12 Is HOT This Weekend
It’s Saturday morning and you know what that means. We’re just a few hours away from all-day college football.
The Pac-12 is heating up this weekend and we’ll cover an overtime thriller in Boulder, Colorado. We’ll also talk about some marquee matchups today, with most of them coming out of the Pac-12 conference.
Let’s get started.
Were you asleep and missed the Friday night thriller? 💤
Let’s take a look at what happened between Stanford and Colorado 👀
💰️Colorado had this game in the bag after grabbing a 29-0 lead over Stanford.
⏰ Unfortunately for Colorado, you still need to play the 2nd half, something Stanford didn’t seem to forget.
🙃 Stanford would score 4 unanswered touchdowns, 3 coming in the 3rd quarter and another in the 4th. Stanford missed some 2-pt attempts so they were still down 29-26. Colorado would extend the lead with another touchdown but Standford would find a way to tie it up and take this thing to overtime.
🤯 All it would take is two overtimes, an incredible catch, and stopping the Colorado offense one time.
✔️COMEBACK COMPLETE
This was a masterclass in the air raid game.
👉️Shedeur Sanders (33/47, 400 yards, 5 TD, 1 INT) keeps showing he’s the real deal at QB at the FBS level
👉️ Stanford QB Ashton Sanders (27/45, 396 yards, 4 TDs) should be the starter for the rest of the season after this performance.
🏈 NCAA Week 7 Top Games
#8 Oregon (5-0) @ #7 Washington (5-0)
📺️ Gametime is 3:30 pm ET on ABC
🚌The Oregon Ducks are taking a business trip to Seattle in an attempt to slow down the Washington Huskie’s offense. Washington’s offense is one of the best in the nation and is stacked with incredible weapons, like QB Michael Penix, and receivers like Rome Oduzne and Ja’Lynn Polk. These dudes are ballers, but so is the Oregon defense.
👜The Washington offensive line better not bring any baggage to the stadium on Saturday because the Oregon defense is ranked 2nd in the nation in sacks per game. The Washington offense has allowed less than a sack per game (6th nationally) so this will be a battle at the line of scrimmage.
🎯The Washington offense also leads the nation in plays over 30 yards so pressure will be key on Penix to disrupt the timing for downfield throws. If the Oregon D can slow down the Huskies, it’s will be up to the Ducks’ QB Bo Nix to help the Oregon offense put some points up.
💲 Washington is the favorite at -3 and the O/U is 67. I think this game could come down to a field goal at the end and could be a bit of a shootout. I’d take Oregon and the over
#10 USC (6-0) @ #21 Notre Dame(5-2)
📺️ Gametime is 7:30 pm ET on NBC
✈️ The USC Trojans are heading to the midwest, something they’ll be doing a lot next year when they join the Big10. This year, the Trojans have their bags packed and are bringing the air raid with them, if the weather permits.
🌴 It’s not all sunshine and palm trees once you leave SoCal and it looks like the weather may not be great in South Bend. USC’s offense is near the top in almost every category and QB Caleb Williams is the #1 draft prospect for the NFL. Delivering the ball in a rainy game is exactly the stamp he needs on his resume.
🔑 Here are the keys to the game for both squads. USC needs to be able to pass during the rain(we got it). Notre Dame is supposed to have a dominant O-line, something that we haven’t seen in the last few weeks. If the Fighting Irish have some fight left up front and can get the ground game going, they’ll be able to put some pressure on this USC defense, which hasn’t been great. ND’s QB Sam Hartman needs to take control of drives, churn some clock, and slow the game down. The major key to success is limiting USC’s possessions.
💲 ND is -2.5 points favorites at home and the O/U is 60.5. I think you need to take USC anytime they’re getting points at the moment. I’d probably stay away from the O/U until I know more about the weather, but feel free to be wild and take the over!
#25 Miami (4-1) @ #12 North Carolina(5-0)
📺️ Gametime is 7:30 pm ET on ABC
😕 This should be a bigger ACC matchup than it is, but thanks to Mario Cristobal’s play-calling snafu last week against Georgia Tech, The Hurricanes dropped to #25 in the rankings.
🐏 The UNC offense has been a bully and has been running through teams, especially since their close call with App State. The Tar Heels are one of the best teams on 3rd down and the Hurricanes defense is not. The Hurricane’s defense does rank in the top 10 in total yards allowed and is 12th in total points allowed.
🔑 A major key for the game is Tar Heels receiver Devontez Walker has had more time to practice with the team after the NCAA reversed their decision to allow him to play after a transfer eligibility issue. He’ll be a big target for Drake Maye against the Miami defense. A major key for Miami is QB Tyler Van Dyke. Van Dyke is ranking a little better in some QB categories than Drake Maye and many expect Maye to be the 2nd QB taken in the draft this year.
💲 UNC is favorited by 3 points and the O/U is 57. I’ll take UNC in this matchup and I’m taking the under. I think UNC wins 28-17.
#15 UCLA (4-1) @ #18 Oregon State(5-1)
This is the last of our ranked vs ranked matchups today.
📺️ Gametime is 8 pm ET on FOX
🦫 This will be a battle on who can build the biggest dam at the line of scrimmage and slow down the flow of the run game. UCLA has the 2nd best run defense in the nation and Oregon State ranks 3rd nationally in rushing offense. If UCLA can force Oregon State to pass, they might be able to force DJ Uiagalelei to make some errors. He had his best game just last week but had one of his worst games the week before.
🔑 The key for UCLA is relying on their defense, which means they need to rely on their offense. UCLA needs to run some clock, get a few first downs and give their defensive line a breather between series. If they can do that and mix in a few big plays in the passing game, they should be in good shape. The key for Oregon State is setting Uiagalelei up for success, which means they’ll need to stick to calling run plays and if UCLA stacks the box, then Uiagalelei and the offense need to check to a pass play and stay mistake-free.
💲 UCLA is 3.5 point underdogs on the road and the O/U is 54. I’m taking UCLA and the under.
That’s a wrap for today. Enjoy the games.
