$760,000 flying away!

Happy Thursday. The weekend is approaching and as much as we love our college football Saturdays and NFL Sundays, we’ve got to be patient for this weekend’s games. We’ve got a dose of all the sports today.

Here we go.

NBA News

Trouble In Warrior Land

Golden State Warriors stars Stephen Curry and Draymond Green will both be sidelined for the foreseeable future. Curry will miss Thursday's game against the Oklahoma City Thunder due to a right knee injury, while Green has been suspended five games for his role in a “brawl” during a game against the Minnesota Timberwolves on Tuesday.

Curry fell on his knee during a Sunday Timberwolves matchup and while an MRI didn’t reveal any structural damage Curry will be evaluated again later in the week.

The Warriors are 6-6 and this could give them an opportunity to get some young guys some experience the next few games.

By the way, Draymonds suspension will cost him $769,970. 💸

Sneaky Stats

The Indiana Pacers are 7-4 and are 3rd in the Eastern Conference. That’s not the sneaky stat though, Their sneaky stat is that they are the most efficient offense of all time so far this season. Is this something they can keep up for 71 more games? Maybe not. Does it still look really good right now? For sure. Check out more about how the Pacers are scoring 122 points per 100 possessions and are averaging 8.9 more points per 100 possessions than the league average.

LeBron Moves Up In Record Books

LeBron James moved up in the record books even though the Lakers lost 125-110 to the Sacramento Kings. James finished with a triple-double (28 points, 10 rebounds, 11 assists) that moved him to #5 on the all-time triple-double list. What’s wild is that Nikola Jokic has 1 more triple-double than LeBron but has played less than half the games of LeBron.

Canucks Grab 1st Place in the West, Lose Key Player

Go back 1 year in the hockey standings and you’d find the Vancouver Canucks at the bottom of the Western Conference standings, well, the almost bottom. The Canucks were 2nd to last. Fast forward a year aka today and the Canucks are atop the West.

Vancouver grabbed a 4-3 OT win over the New York Islanders last night, handing New York their 6th loss in a row.

The Canucks were without defensemen Carson Soucy after he was injured Sunday night against the Montreal Canadiens when blocked a shot with his foot. Soucy will be out for 6-8 weeks with a “lower-body injury”.

MLB Awards

It’s award season for Major League Baseball. On Monday night the MLB announced Gunnar Henderson(AL, Baltimore Orioles) and Corbin Carroll(NL, Arizona Diamondbacks) Rookies of the Year.

On Tuesday night Skip Schumaker(NL, Miami Marlins) and Brandon Hyde(AL, Orioles) were named managers of the year, and last night the Cy Young Winners were announced.

Gerrit Cole of the New York Yankees won the award for the American League award and Blake Snell (free agent but played for the SD Padres) won the National League award. Snell is now a two-time Cy Young Award winner, having won the American League award in 2018. Only a few elite pitchers have won the award in both leagues. Pedro Martinez, Randy Johnson, and Roger Clemens are a few of them.

The MLB MVP award winners will be named tonight!

NFL News

We’ve got a great Thursday Night Football matchup between the Bengals and the Ravens, before we get into that we’ve got two things to cover. The NFL is the gift that keeps on giving, so we’ll have more to talk about on Saturday morning too.

Bills Fire Offensive Coordinator

You probably heard by now, but the Bills fired their offensive coordinator. The Bills are 5-5 and lost on a field goal to the Denver Broncos after THE DEFENSE AND SPECIAL TEAMS HAD PENALTIES ON THE LAST DRIVE THAT GAVE THE BRONCOS ANOTHER CHANCE TO MAKE A FIELD THAT THEY JUST MISSED(we should mention the defensive penalty put the Broncos in field goal position).

You can talk about offensive efficiency, turnovers, points scored, explosive plays, whatever you want. When you watch the offense, you might think it looks a little lackluster, you definitely think Josh Allen needs to stop forcing throws and protect the ball. HERE’S THE THING.

If the field goal blocking unit didn’t have 12 men on the field the Broncos didn’t get another shot at the field(+5 extra yards) and the game ended on the missed field goal, the Bills win 22-21…. Does Buffalo still fire their OC? You tell me!

Does Ken Dorsey still get fired if the Bills won on Monday?

A Brown(s) Guarantee 💩

✅ Guarantee Deshaun Watson $230 to play QB for your team

✅ Deshaun Watson guarantees he won’t ever play QB for your team

Yesterday morning, the Cleveland Browns announced that Deshaun Watson will undergo surgery on his throwing shoulder and will be out for the remainder of the season.

Cleveland traded its 2022, 2023, and 2024 first-round picks, 2023 third-round pick, and fourth-round picks in 2022 and 2024 for Watson and a Houston 2024 sixth-round pick, guaranteed Watson a $230 million contract and now he’ll only have played 12 of a possible 34 games by the season’s end.

Injuries suck, but if you’re a Browns fan, this sucks more(especially with this awesome defense you have)
