Did The Jets Secure A New Weapon?

No, were not talking about Top Gun with Tom Cruise and Miles Teller. Even though Teller is an Eagles fan, we’re talking about another team that wears green and takes flight.

JETS JETS JETS!

All hype aside for those hopeful Jets fanatics, Aaron Rodgers was secured by the Jets in a trade with the Green Bay Packers.

Here are the deets.

The Jets are getting:

  • Four-time MVP Aaron Rodgers

  • 2023 first round pick (no. 15 pick)

  • 2023 fifth rounder

The Packers are getting:

  • 2023 first round pick (no. 13 pick)

  • 2023 second round pick (no. 42 pick)

  • 2023 sixth round pick (no. 207 pick)

  • 2024 2nd-round pick (this turns into a 1st round pick if Rodgers plays more than 65% of the snaps)

So who won this trade? It’s really going to take 2 years to tell and it depends on what the expectations from each team are.

The Packers will get to test out Jordan Love at QB and if it’s not successful, the 2024 college QB class looks better than this year’s so the Packers will have plenty of picks to grab one.

The Jets get an experienced QB who has won a Super Bowl. Rodgers also rejoins the former Packers assistant Nathaniel Hackett who is now the OC for the Jets. So what is a successful 2023 season for the Jets? Is it making playoffs? Making a Super Bowl appearance? Or is it win a Super Bowl or bust?

I guess we’ll find out.

Either way.. the Bears are happy Aaron Rodgers is out of their division.

Wrexham AFC

The Wrexham AFC season seems like it was written as a Hollywood story. The football club was purchased by Rob McElhenney and Ryan Reynolds in 2021. And yes, it seems like anything Ryan Reynolds touches recently, turns to gold.

Wrexham AFC just won the National League Title in England and have now been promoted to the English Football League Two. So Now Wrexham is basically three leagues away from the English Premiere League, which is the cream of the crop.

Congrats to the owners and most importantly, all the players who take to the pitch!

That’s all for today. We’ll back with more sports tomorrow.
