Alcaraz Tops Djokovic

What a Sunday!

and good morning. We’ve got lots to cover so let’s jump right in.

Wimbledon

What a show we got from both Carlos Alcaraz and Novak Djokovic. It’s exactly what you want to see, the 1 versus 2, battling it out on Center Court.

The Finals match went into 5 sets and took nearly 5 hours to complete. Alcaraz, who is only 20 would come out on top, showing why he has earned the No.1 that’s been in front of his name.

We’re not saying Djokovic is washing up and yes it’s unfortunate that Novak didn’t go back to back to back to back to back at Wimbledon, but this skillset of Alcaraz is top-notch. He was keeping Novak at the baseline all day and dropping these beautiful spinners right over the net and Novak had no chance. Pair that with a great service and return game, I think he’s going to be at the top of the rankings for the next decade.

Genesis Scottish Open

Rory McIlroy was back in the winner’s circle after playing some tremendous golf this weekend. Rory headed out for Sunday’s round 13 under and atop the leaderboard. Robert MacIntyre gave himself a chance after coming in low with a 64 during the final round.

It was looking like we’d have a playoff between McIlroy and MacIntyre but Rory would hit a low dart on his approach into a 18 and nail a birdie putt for the win.

It’s always nice to win on tour but now the real question is… Did Rory just make himself the favorite for The Open this week?

Check out his approach into 18 with a cool view.

American Century Celebrity Golf Championship

If he’s not winning an NBA Championship, he’s out winning Golf Championships. After recording a hole-in-one on Saturday, Curry would go out on Sunday and win the tournament. He’s the first active athlete to win the tournament since 2000.

NBA Summer League

We’re heading into the final day of the NBA Summer League and the Houston Rockets and Cleveland Cavaliers will meet in the Summer League Championship. Game time is set for today at 9 pm ET on ESPN. Both teams are unbeaten so far.

Phoenix Suns

The Phoenix Suns continue to make moves as they try to recover some draft picks from the blockbuster trades they made this season.

The Suns agreed to a one-year deal with free-agent forward Bol Bol. They are also sending Cam Payne and a future second-round pick to the Spurs for a future second-rounder, and acquiring three future second-round picks from Orlando in exchange for a 2026 first-round pick swap.

Does DeAndre Hopkins Have A Destination?

DeAndre Hopkins, who could still be one of the NFL’s best receivers is expected to sign a two-year deal with Tennessee Titans this weekend. The deal would be worth up to $15 million. Nothing has been solidified yet. We’ll let you know when we hear more.

That’s all for today. Have yourselves a week!
