The ALCS Heats Up

+ The Las Vegas Aces Win Championship

Good Morning. Wednesday was a busy day as one team is trying to hold on to their championship hopes, another accomplished their championship dreams, and the NFL has crowned their King for 3 more years.

Oh and let’s not forget we already have NBA drama and the season hasn’t even started yet!

Let’s check out some stories.

WNBA Championship

The Las Vegas Aces defeated the New York Liberty 70-69 to win their second straight WNBA championship.

🏆️ A'ja Wilson led the Aces with 24 points and 16 rebounds and was named Finals MVP.

💪 The Aces won despite missing key starters Chelsea Gray and Kiah Stokes due to injury. Defense was critical down the stretch - the Aces locked down the Liberty with 8.8 seconds to go and forced Courtney Vandersloot to miss a corner three at the buzzer.

🤯 The Aces are just the third team in WNBA history to win back-to-back titles, joining the Houston Comets and Los Angeles Sparks.

#️⃣ The Aces and Liberty split wins in their 4 regular season matchups but those games were blowouts every time. The first two games of the finals weren’t much different for the Aces, winning by an average margin of 22.5 points. The Liberty took game 3 but Vegas wasn’t going to leave it up to a game 5.

Check out the final play below.

ALCS Game 3 (Rangers Lead 2-1)

Houston Astros 8 | Texas Rangers 5

⚾️ Cristian Javier threw a great game for the Houston Astros as he only allowed two runs and three hits in 5 2/3 innings.

❤️‍🩹 Max Scherzer pitched for the Rangers but it was his first game back in over a month after suffering a shoulder injury. Scherzer pitched 4 innings but gave up 5 hits and 5 runs.

🚨 Game 4 is tonight when José Urquidy pitches for Houston and Andrew Heaney starts for the Rangers. Game 5 will be Friday afternoon. If the Rangers don’t win tonight, sound the alarms. It will be a tough ask to win game 6 and 7 in Houston.

📺️ You can catch game 4 at 8:03 pm ET on FS1

💰️ The Rangers are -120 to win and the O/U is 9.5. I’ll take the over.

NLCS Game 3 (Phillies lead 2-0)

Philadelphia Phillies @ Arizona Diamondbacks

📺️ Gametime 5:07 pm ET on TBS

⚾️ The Phillies are looking to go up 3-0 on the road and will have Ranger Suarez pitching against Brandon Pfaadt.

🌠 The Phillies have blasted 6 home runs to the moon in the first two games of the series and the D-Backs might not setting themselves up for success tonight. Pfaadt has allowed a good amount of homers in the regular season and although he’s coming off of a good outing in the NLDS, Philly’s bats are HOT right now.

💰️ Philly is -130 to win and the O/U is 9. I’ll take the over.

Thursday Night Football

Jacksonville Jaguars @ New Orleans Saints

📺️ Gametime is 8:15 pm ET on PRIME Video

❤️‍🩹 Jags QB Trevor Lawrence is still questionable although he’s going to do everything in his power to be on the field. C.J. Beathard could get the start tonight.

🏃 If Beathard is playing tonight, expect Travis Etienne to get more carries to open up some throws. The Saint defense is still pretty good but the Saints can’t score on offense.

💪 The Jags defense is looking like a top 5 defense statistically but that could just be the opponents they are playing. They’ll likely look good again against a very weak Saints offense.

💰️ New Orleans is a 1-point favorite at home and the O/U is 40. I hate to do it but I think I’ll just take the under in this game and leave the spread alone.

College Football On A Thursday

We’ve got college football games tonight too! Check out these two games if you don’t have PRIME Video

  • Rice @ Tulsa, 7 pm ET on ESPN 2

  • James Madison @ Marshall, 7 pm ET on ESPN

We’ll catch up with you tomorrow. Have a day!
