ALLOW ME TO REINTRODUCE.....
The ACC
Good Morning and welcome to a weekend of College Football. First, we’ll cover some of the action from last night, we’ll talk a little tennis, baseball, and then cover the big college football games for today.
Let’s get this Saturday started.
College Football Scoreboard
Let’s cover two games from last night. If you want a full scoreboard, check it out here.
Miami vs. Miami
Nope, this wasn’t a spring game. This was the University of Miami Hurricanes vs Miami University RedHawks (Ohio).
The Hurricanes put a 38-3 whooping on the RedHawks after scoring the ‘Canes scored on their opening drive. I would’ve expected the Hurricanes to put up 50, but these aren’t the Hurricanes of the past but maybe they’re getting back on track. The score was 18-3 at halftime and the Hurricanes kept the storm coming in the second half, especially with pressuring the RedHawks on their passing attack.
The Hurricanes had almost 500 yards of total offense, with 243 passing yards and 250 rushing yards. The ‘Canes’ defense held the RedHawks to only 215 total yards, had 3 sacks, and multiple QB pressures.
Louisville Cardinals vs. Georgia Tech Yellow Jackets
The Louisville Cardinals came back from a 28-13 first-half deficit against Georgia Tech. Louisville would secure the win when they had a sack fumble with 4 minutes to go and they were up 1 in the 4th quarter. On the next play from scrimmage, Jawhar Jordan would take a handoff 74 yards to the house. Louisville would win 39-34.

US Open
Men’s Single
Man, it must feel pretty darn good if you’re facing Novak Djokovic and you’re up 2 sets on him. You’re starting down a W and all you need to do is win 1 more set out of the next 3.
There’s one problem. You’re facing one of the greatest tennis players of all time and he can’t be counted out…EVER.
Well if Laslo Djere had the 2-set lead against Djokovic last night at the US Open. Djere beating Djokovic 4-6, 4-6, grabbing a 2-set lead. He would go on to lose that lead when Djokovic won the next 2 sets, 6-1 and 6-1. Djere gave a little more of a fight on the third set but Djokovic completed the ultimate comeback winning the last set 6-3.
Women’s Singles
Caroline Wozniacki is making a successful return after a 3-year break from tennis for childbirth. She just grabbed a 4-6, 6-3, 6-1 victory over Jennifer Brady, advancing to the round of 16.
Her next opponent will be No. 6 seed Coco Gauff, who came from behind to win 3-6, 6-3, 6-0 against Elise Mertens. Wozniacki, a former World No. 1 and 2018 Australian Open champion, will face Gauff tomorrow with the time still TBD.
MLB
Aaron Judge Blast 250th Homer In Record Time
Aaron Judge became the fastest player to ever reach 250 home runs in a career. Judge did it in 810 games when he blasted a Justin Verlander slider 426 feet in Minute Maid Park. The Yanks got a win last night and are 9.5 games out of the wild card. 🤣
Ryan Howard held the previous record for fastest to 250 when he did it in 855 games.
Pitch Clock Will Live On
The new pitch clock was a hot topic at the beginning of the year. Players have gotten used to it and fans are loving it. I know I enjoyed being able to go to a game and it wasn’t a four-hour event.
Players were hoping for the 15 seconds to be extended to 20 for the postseason but MLB announced there will be no changes. Average game times are the fastest they’ve been since 1984 and they are 25 minutes faster than last year.
So if you’re watching every single one of your team’s games you're basically getting 3 days off your year thanks to the pitch clock.
That’s too much brain stuff for today, let’s move on.

The Atlantic Pacific Texas Coast Conference aka the APTCC aka the ACC
Yup.. what used to be the Atlantic Coast Conference with schools stretching up and down the Atlantic Coast and some just a few states inland is now stretching across the entire nation. Stanford, Cal Berkley, and SMU(Dallas, TX) will be joining the ACC.
That leaves the PAC-12 with two schools. Oregon St. and Washington St. and they both have nowhere to go. It appears their only option may be to join the Mountain West
Saturday Matchups
We’ve got a long list of games today but here’s a group of matchups you might be interested in.
Boise State at #10 Washington, 3:30 pm ET on ABC
#21 North Carolina at South Carolina, 7:30 pm ET on ABC
and the biggest game on Saturday is the Deion Sanders aka Coach Prime’s debut for the Colorado Buffalo against #17 TCU. The game is at TCU and it’s at Noon ET, on FOX
That’s all for today. Enjoy the games
