A Bobcat vs A Gopher

Who wins the fight?

Today’s Estimated Reading Time: 3 minutes and 46 seconds

Happy Friday, can you believe we made it? If last weekend’s Final Four wasn’t sensory overload enough we’ve got some more action to tingle your senses.

Here’s what’s going on:

🏒 Frozen Four

🏒 Seattle In The Playoffs

⛳️ Masters Chat

Let’s get to it.

Ice Cold in Tampa

The Frozen Four is in the warm and sunny city of Tampa and the semifinal games had their puck drops last night.

The top seeded Minnesota Golden Gophers took on the Boston University Terriers and had some trouble in the beginning of the game but ultimately pulled through with a 6-2 win.

The Quinnipiac Bobcats faced off with the Michigan Wolverines and the score was 2-2 at the end of the 2nd period. Quinnipiac broke the 3rd period stalemate and punched in 3 goals to win 5-2.

We’ve got the Golden Gophers facing the Bobcats on Saturday night at 8pm on ESPN2. We know who would win this fight on dry land, but throw some skates on a Gopher and a Bobcat and it’s anyone’s guess of what will happen.

Kraken Cracking Through

The Seattle Kraken have clinched a wild card spot in the Stanley Cup Playoffs in their 2nd season in the NHL. This is an exceptional feat for a young franchise. We’ll see if they can make a similar run as the Vegas Golden Knights did in their first season when they made playoffs and eventually lost to the Washington Capitals in the Stanley Cup Final.

Friday At Augusta

This year’s first round at Augusta National has been considerably easier than last year’s. After the first round in 2022 only 18 golfers had scores better than par. This year’s opening round gave us 36 golfers with under par scores. The conditions were soft on Thursday, allowing golfers to be aggressive and get their balls to sit near the pin and not roll too much on the usually quick undulating greens.

It’s looking like conditions on Friday will be less forgiving as Augusta is expecting heavy rain and winds in the afternoon. This may continue into Saturday and the temps are expected to drop. Mother nature is about to push player’s games to the brink and put them to the test. Hopefully this doesn’t create too many scheduling issues, but would it be so bad to have a Masters Monday?

Our current leaderboard hosts John Rahm, Brooks Koepka, and Viktor Hovland at the top as they recorded scores of -7 yesterday. Defending champ, Scottie Scheffler lurks a bit behind at -4. All eyes were on Tiger and he struggled with putting, recording a first round score of +2. Rory McIlroy also struggled a bit recording a few bogeys and one double bogey. He recovered on some holes to come in at even par for the day.

Will the cold rain and windy conditions resemble Northern Ireland and give Rory the edge he needs to complete the grand slam? Can Tiger get his legs under him today and make the cut? Will Scottie Scheffler make a jump with a 10am tee time before the rain moves in? Can Hovland, Rahm, or Koepka keep their lead today? Tune in to find out!

p.s. can Viktor Hovland chip now? If so, everyone’s in trouble.

That’s all for today. Enjoy your happy hours!

Cheers,
