NCAA Tournament
It’s that time of year! The brackets have been set for both the Men and Women’s College Basketball Tournaments.
In the Men’s bracket, Alabama, Houston, Kansas, and Purdue were selected as #1 seeds. Houston lucked out with having a better overall ranking than Kansas. Houston was placed in the Midwest region and if they advance to the sweet 16/elite 8 weekend, they will play in Kansas City. Since Kansas was ranked behind Houston, if Kansas advances to the sweet 16/elite 8 weekend, they will have to play in Las Vegas. Bama has a great setup to start the tourney. They play the first and second rounds in Birmingham, just 90 minutes from campus. Get your printable men’s bracket here.
In the Women’s bracket, South Carolina, Indiana, Stanford, and Virginia Tech were selected as #1 seeds. South Carolina was no surprise as they are undefeated on the season and are the heavy favorite to win their 3rd natty. This is the first time Va. Tech and Indiana have ever secured a 1-seed.
All of the Women’s 1-seeds host the first and second round. Lucky for South Carolina, if they advance to the sweet 16 and elite 8 they will only need to travel 90 minutes to Greenville, SC for the “super regional”. Get your brackets here.
Good luck to all the teams playing and good luck to Texas as they host the Men’s final four in Houston and the Women’s final four in Dallas.

Lakers Drop in Standings
The LA Lakers have been making a push to make playoffs without having to go through the play-in tournament. Last night, the Lakers fell out of contention for the play-in after after a 112-108 loss to the NY Knicks. Even though the Lakers are 11th in the West, they aren’t far off from an actual playoff spot aka the 6 seed as they are only 2 games behind Golden State. who is the current 6 seed. The Lakers have 14 games to go and will likely need to win 11 of the 14 to get that playoff spot.

Scheffler Secures Another Win
Sundays with Scottie are starting to become a very normal thing. Scottie Scheffler secured another PGA Tour win on Sunday at The Players Championship and basically made $900k for each stroke that he won by. He came in 17 under for the weekend to win $4.5 million and Tyrrell Hatton came in at 12 under.
Don’t feel bad for Hatton though, he still won $2.75 mil for his performance. In fact, Hatton might be the happiest of all, with a great Sunday performance. After his front 9 holes on Sunday, he was sitting at 5 under for the weekend and was estimated to only make $143k. He shot a 29 on the back, which brough those earnings up an extra $2.5 mil. That’s a pretty good return for 9 holes of work!
We’ll get back to more golf chat later in the week but just know that Scheffler is in top form again this year. He’s got his sixth win since February 2022 and he’ll be red hot heading into the Masters in April.
From Texas to the top ... all in five years.
A look at Scottie Scheffler's journey.

Rams Making Cap Space
The Los Angeles Rams went all in 2 years ago in an effort to win the super bowl. They accomplished their goal but they tied up salary cap space and traded some draft picks that need to be able to return to a competitive level. Without having a first round pick this year and still being over the cap space they’ve been releasing some players and shopping others around.
On Sunday, it was reported that Pro Bowl CB Jalen Ramsey will be traded to the Miami Dolphins. The Rams will receive TE Hunter Long and the Dolphins’ third-round pick.
This move will save the Rams close to $6 million in cap space and the Dolphins will receive a top 3 NFL corner.
That’s all for today.
Have a great week!
