All You Can Eat Pasta In College?

It wasn’t all you can eat at Olive Garden last night, but college basketball teams were serving up a hot dish of upsetti spaghetti!

We’re going to cover some NCAA basketball scores from last night and a lot more.

Let’s grate this parmesan.

Wednesday Night Upsets

#5 UConn 60 | Seton Hall 75

🏀 This is one of the season's biggest upsets so far, and it marks UConn's largest conference loss since they rejoined the Big East in 2020-21.

🏃 UConn was up by 10 in the first half, but Seton Hall would go on a 21-7 run and enter the locker room with a lead at the half. UConn would score the first bucket in the 2nd half to get it within 3, but the Huskies couldn’t get closer. Seton Hall would be led by Kadary Richmond, who scored 23 on the night.

❤️‍🩹 UConn suffered a blow in the 2nd half when big man Donovan Clingan went down with an ankle sprain. Clingan had 14 points and seven rebounds at this point, and this isn’t the first lower-body injury he’s dealt with this season.

#11 North Carolina 81 | #7 Oklahoma 69

🏀 RJ Davis led the Tar Heels to a nice win over an undefeated Oklahoma team with 23 points and five assists. It’s his 7th straight game with 20+ points. The Tar Heels were physical at the rim on both offense and defense, and the Heels had a good night shooting from the outside.

🦓 If you watched this game, it felt like the Heels were getting every call, but in reality, UNC only got two more calls than OU. The Sooners left a few points at the free-throw line and were shut down fairly easily when they couldn’t score on drives to the hoop.

#10 Baylor 70 | #21 Duke 78

🗽 These two teams battled it out at MSG last night, but it came down to a late push by Duke and a big night from guard Jared McCain

⌛️ After Duke got a quick lead at the beginning of the game, the lead was shared back and forth for almost 20 minutes of play. It was all tied up 61-61 with 6:32 to go in the 2nd half. This is when Duke got dialed in and went on a 14-1 scoring run. McCain sank a big three-pointer, but Jeremy Roach scored 5 points during the run.

Villanova 68 | #12 Creighton 66

🏀 Our final upset of the night came in overtime when Villanova cranked up the heat on Creighton thanks to the hot hand of Eric Dixon

👉️ Villanova was looking to slow down the fast break of Creighton all night, and while they did a decent job of slowing the game down, ‘Nova would find themselves down 14 in the 2nd half. Eric Dixon was that dude for Villanova after he scored 32 points. Dixon came up huge in OT with a big 3-pointer at the start, and then he closed out the game with a go-ahead 3 with 30 seconds left.

📰 The good news for Creighton is Villanova had to play almost perfectly to get this W. Sometimes you need a tough loss.

College Football = More Drama Drama Drama

🧑‍⚖️ Michigan has received a notice of allegations from the NCAA regarding alleged recruiting violations. It’s reported that Jim Harbaugh will face a level I and a level II charge for violations. Harbaugh already served a three-game self-imposed suspension earlier at the beginning of the year, and it’s unclear what the NCAA will hand down after the ruling. Read more about the story here.

👉️ The fallout from Florida State missing the CFP continues. The top recruit for the safety position, K.J. Bolden, has decommited from FSU and has decided to attend the University of Georgia. Bolden is the #16 overall ranked player in the Class of 2024. Georgia now has commits from the #1 recruit at safety, cornerback, and outside linebacker.

NBA News

🏀 The New York Knicks beat the Brooklyn Nets in BK for the first time since 2019 last night. Julius Randle scored 26, and Donte DiVincenzo added 24 to get the W. The Knicks pulled through in a big way, as they’re playing with a backup of a backup at center. It’s a nice win, but the Knicks also received a blow on the same night as they found their starting big man Mitchell Robinson will miss the entire season with his ankle injury.

🏀 The Denver Nuggets keep rolling as Nikola Jokic scored 31 points and Jamal Murray had 20 in a win over the Toronto Raptors last night. The Nuggets have won 5 of their last 6 games.

📈 After a tough loss to the Warriors on Tuesday night, the Boston Celtics traveled a short distance to Sacramento to take on the Kings. The Celts redeemed themselves with a huge 144-119 win. Check this, the Celtics had 5 scorers in the 20s last night and got 28 points from both Derrick White and Jaylen Brown. This was all without Jayson Tatum, who was out with an ankle sprain.

👀 Umm, we had to do a double-take here. The Philadelphia 76ers took down the Minnesota Timberwolves 127-113 last night. Tyrese Maxey scored 35 for the Sixers but that’s not the biggest story. JOEL EMBIID PUT UP A 50 BURGER…Yup... Embiid scored 51 and had 12 rebounds last night.
