GM. This is The Daily Breakroom. We’re the blueberries to your muffins, without us, the day just wouldn’t be as good.
What’s happening in the sports world:
🏈Bring your kid to work day no more
🏈 Super Bowl Simulation
⚽️ Man City in Trouble?
🧹From Gridiron to the Ice
Broncos Making Changes
Are the Denver Broncos canceling bring your kid to work day? Well, we don’t know if they actually have ever done that (except for Sundays) but here’s what we do know. New head coach Sean Payton has already made it clear that Russell Wilson’s personal QB coach, Jake Heaps, will not be allowed in the facility or at practices. It was a foreign concept to Payton. He was able to help Drew Brees get to a Hall of Fame level, we’ll see if he can help put the Danger back in DangerRuss.
EA Sports Madden NFL Predicts Super Bowl Winner
Are we all just living in a simulation? You can have your philosophical discussion on your own time. The Super Bowl has been simulated by the Madden NFL video game. The result? Eagles are predicted to beat the Chiefs 31-17. You might wondering how often does the video game correctly predict the winner….Wonder no more, its predicts the winner over 70% of the time. The video game is 0-2 in the last two years so you may be feeling that it’s due.
Manchester City Breaking Rules
English Premier League’s Manchester City Football Club is alleged to have been breaking fair play rules for a little over a decade. Here’s what you need to know. There are financial rules in the English Premier League that ensure teams are paying players and coaches based on the revenues the teams are generating. To be able to pay players and coaches more, Man City has basically been cooking the books to get away with some things, again, “allegedly”. During this time period of misconduct, Man City has won 6 EPL Championships. It sounds like this will be a lengthy period of litigation and if they are found guilty it could result in various fines and a possible relegation from the EPL.
From the Gridiron to the Ice
Former NFL star defensive end, Jared Allen(the infamous #69), has been trying to make the US Olympic Curling Team. This is an endeavor he’s been taking on since he retired in 2018. His team upset a team that was skippered by the leader of the USA team that won a Gold at the 2018 Olympics(say that 10 times fast!). If Allen’s team can win the USA championship this weekend in Denver, they could represent USA at the World’s in March.
Jared Allen and Marc Bulger continue their run at the 2023 U.S. Curling National Championships this afternoon! 🇺🇸🥌
