Here’s what we’re covering
NBA Eastern Conference Finals
NHL Western Conference Finals
Charles Schwab Challenge Update
Some NFL Stats That We Haven’t Vetted
Here we go.
Miami Heat vs Boston Celtics
The Boston Celtics were able to force a game 5 in the Eastern Conference Finals with a big win over the Miami Heat on Tuesday night. Boston came out cooking in the first quarter and grabbed a 15-point lead. The deficit would haunt Miami the entire night as they couldn’t close the gap and at one point were down 24 in the 4th quarter. Jimmy Butler claims they just had an “off” 2 games and guaranteed that the Heat will win the series.
Boston had four 20-point scorers. Jayson Tatum and Jaylen Brown had 21, Marcus Smart had 23, and Derrick White had 24.
Duncan Robinson was the high scorer for the Heat with 18 points.
The series will head back to Miami for game 6 and the Heat have 3-2 lead.
Dallas Stars Avoid Sweep
The Dallas Stars still have some fight left in them as they avoid the series sweep in game 4 with a 3-2 OT win over the Vegas Golden Knights.
Jake Oettinger, the netminder for the Stars, was pulled from goal early in Game 3. He was put back in the net for last night’s matchup and the Stars gave up a quick one four minutes into the first period. Dallas would tie it up with a power play goal later in the first.
Midway through the 2nd period, Vegas would once again take the lead but Dallas followed up with another goal a few minutes later.
With game 2-2 and Oettinger having a stronger performance in the net, the game would get sent to overtime. Joe Pavelski would score his 9th playoff goal of this postseason on a powerplay goal just 3 minutes into the extra period. We’ll have a game 5 in Vegas with the Golden Knights holding the 3-1 lead in the series.
PGA Tour
Englishman Harry Hall dominated the Colonial Golf Course in the first round of the Charles Schwab Challenge. He went 8 under par, recording 10 pars and 8 birdies on the scorecard. Quite impressive.
Harris English is the next closest on the leaderboard with a -5 and our boy Blockie (aka Michael Block) didn’t have a super hot round yesterday. He is currently last in the field with a +11. Let’s hope Blockie can go low today so we can see him over the weekend.
Stream the action on ESPN+ or tune in from 4 pm-7 pm ET on The GOLF Channel.
Fun NFL Stats
We’ve got some fun NFL stats that we haven’t vetted or validated but you can still enjoy.
That’s all for today. 5 o’clock is almost here. Enjoy them happy hours!
Cheers
