Championship coming to New York?
Happy Groundhogs Day!
Punxsutawney Phil had an opportunity to have the Top Play slot, but he unfortunately saw his shadow and now we have six additional weeks of winter. Better luck next year little guy.

‘sup dude
Here’s the scoop for today:
A championship coming to New York
Ice cold in Minnesota
Performance of the Day in Boston
PGA Tour at Pebble Beach
Pro Bowl Activities
Let’s get to it
A Championship Coming to New York
Other than a 2021 MLS Cup win by the NYC FC, there hasn’t been a championship won in New York since 2011 when the NY Giants won the super bowl.
Breanna Stewart is coming to New York to change that. The WNBA Star who has won 2 championships with the Seattle Storm didn’t take much time and on the first day of free agency, decided she wants to play her home game at Barclays Center with the New York Liberty. Here goal is to win the Liberty their first champion ship. Let’s see if she can do it because NY teams in the major four leagues aren’t getting it done.

Ice cold in Minnesota
It’s no surprise that it’s chilly in Minnesota in February, but the Golden State Warriors were ice cold in the 4th quarter and OT last night. Golden State was up 93-82 at the end of the 3rd and then couldn’t find a rhythm. They were outscored by the Timberwolves 37-21 in the final 20 minutes of the game (including OT) and the Warriors 3 game win streak was ended. Warriors Steph Curry scored 29 points. Timberwolves had 3 scorers in the 20’s. D’Angelo Russell led with 29, Anthony Edwards had 27, and Naz Reid had 24.

Domination in Boston
While Damian Lillard should get the Performance of the day dropping 42 in a Portland win @ Memphis, we’re giving the POTD as a team award. The Boston Celtics, including Jayson Tatum and Jaylen Brown had quite the night at the TD Garden. The two players went for 31pts and 26pts, respectively, in a blowout win vs the Brooklyn Nets. It was complete domination by Boston from the start so we’re just going to leave the box score below.

A fun weekend on the PGA Tour
Yesterday we briefly discussed the AT&T Pebble Beach Pro-Am where the the worlds best golfers play in their regular PGA tour alongside celebrities. This week is a little different as three courses are played in rotating fashion in the first 3 days. Each group will play a round at Pebble Beach Golf Links, Spyglass Hill GC, and the Shore Course at Monterey Peninsula CC. After the 3 days and 54 holes, there will be a cut where the remaining groups go back to Pebble Beach on Sunday and play it out. If you’re walking around the office you’re likely to see some folks with the matches up on their second screen.
