Cheeseburger Eddy Has The Hookup!

We’ve got a few random stories to cover today. Stick with us as we try to cover each in about 30 seconds and get you moving on with your day.

NBA

Draymond Green Suspended INDEFINITELY

After Draymond’s dumb display of physicality the other night, the NBA has suspended him indefinitely. What does indefinitely mean? Well, in this case, I don’t think it means an unlimited amount of time if we’re looking at the true definition of the word. I think you can use the other version of the word which means for an unspecified amount of time see as the league has said “he will be required to meet certain league and team conditions” before he can return.

What was Draymond’s defense to hitting Jusuf Nurkic the other night? He claimed he sells calls with his arms and he wasn’t trying to Nurkic.

We like physical basketball because as you know, it ain’t easy being cheesy. But this isn’t the stuff of the 90s, this is Draymond just doing dumb stuff on the court all of the time.

Giannis Goes Full Greek Freak Mode

Giannis scored 64 points last night and after the game, he was more heated than Athens in July. Almost a week after the Milwaukee Bucks lost to the Indiana Pacers in the In-season tournament semifinals, Giannis scored a career-high and franchise-record 64 points for the Bucks in a 140-126 win.

Here’s when things get hot. Giannis had to run into the tunnel after the game as the Pacers were trying to take the game ball. Giannis would argue with Lloyd Pierce and Tyrese Halliburton to get the game ball back.

The Pacers claimed they took the game ball so they could give it to their rookie, Oscar Tshiebwe, who scored his first career point in the NBA.

Giannis eventually got a ball, as there were somehow two game balls, but he claims it’s not the right one.

So here is the question.

Who should get the game ball in this situation?

More Details Around Ohtani’s Contract

The Shohei Ohtani deal gets more and more interesting for the LA Dodgers and fans.

Ohtani has deferred 97% of his salary and will get paid for 10 years after his contract expires. Some think he’ll just move back to Japan and pay less taxes.

Another interesting tidbit is that Ohtani can apparently opt out of his contract if either of the two key executives of the Dodgers are no longer in their current roles.

Ohtani is holding onto some power in LA and is also using it to recruit 25-year-old Yoshinobu Yamamoto from the Nippon Baseball League in Japan. Yamamoto has been the Japan league’s top pitcher for the past 3 seasons and could be a great addition to the Dodgers pitching lineup. The Yankees, Mets, Red Sox, and Giants are also interested in Yamamoto.

NFL Talk

Roger Goodell Backs Officials

NFL Commish Roger Goodell defended the officials who called Chiefs wideout Kadarius Toney offside, negating a potential game-winning touchdown. Goodell praised officials for their "extraordinary job" despite recent controversies and noted that they aren’t perfect.

Just curious, what does anyone think the commissioner of the NFL is going to say? He can’t tell everyone the product stinks and the refs are even worse? Can he? About half the teams in the league are playing with a backup QB and Peyton Manning is still one of the most entertaining dudes in the sport and he hasn’t played in almost a decade. So yeah, obviously Roger is going to say that everyone is doing a great job.

At least the NFL doesn’t have a huge playoff scandal going on. It’s not like a team with a losing record will win their division and host a home playoff game to the Eagles or Cowboys. Oh wait, that might happen. 🤐

Thursday Night Football

We’re back to our regularly schedule Thursday Night Football programming where we get to see terrible teams play each other! Bad football is better than no football. I repeat, bad football is better than no football.

Tonight, in Las Vegas, Nevada, the Las Vegas Raiders will host the Chargers of Los Angeles.

📺️ Gametime is set for 8:15 pm ET and the game will be on PRIME Video.

👀 Easton Stick is making his first NFL start for the Chargers as Justin Herbert is out with a fractured index finger. Antonio Pierce aka head coach for the Raiders has yet to determine a starting QB for tonight but is expected to give Aidan O’Connell the start. Check this out. Not only is Herbert not playing for the Chargers, neither is Keenan Allen. For the Raiders, you likely won’t be seeing Davante Adams or Josh Jacobs either. This should be a fun one tonight 🙃

💰️The Raiders are favored by 3 points and the O/U is 34.5.

Sid Ain’t A Kid No More

Sidney Crosby is in his 19th season as an NHL’er and he had a 3-point performance last night in a long long long shootout victory over the Montreal Canadiens. Crosby had 2 goals and 1 assist last night and is now tied with Mark Recchi for 13th on the NHL’s all-time points list.
