College Basketball Coaches Make How Much ??
It’s Wednesday and that means we’ve got the 2nd release of the College Football Rankings, we're back with MACtion in College Football, we’ve got NBA and NHL games tonight, and we’ve got some other stuff going down in college sports.
Let’s get to it.
College Football Rankings
The CFP Committee has met for the 2nd time and released their rankings. The Top 8 teams have remained unchanged and there was a little movement in spots 9-15. Let’s check it out.
In the current state of the rankings, the Pac-12 is once again being left out. Here’s the deal, all Washington needs to do is win out and they’ll secure a spot in the CFP. Either Michigan or Ohio State will have 1 loss by the end of November and we’ll know if Georgia is the real deal when they likely face Bama in the SEC Championship.
There are a bunch of other scenarios that could go down if certain teams lose. If Georgia loses to Bama in the SEC championship, who gets in? If Washington loses to Oregon in the Pac-12 championship, who gets in? If Texas wins the Big 12, could they somehow possibly find their way in?
We could go on and on, or you could check out this article on ESPN explaining why should be angry or confused as a fan.

NBA Wednesday
The NBA took a day off yesterday so there are no scores to report on. We do have an almost full lineup of games tonight but there are two big matchups on ESPN.
🏀 San Antonio Spurs @ New York Knicks, 7:30 pm on ESPN
It’s going to come down to shooting at the perimeter for the Knicks today. This Knicks like to drive and dump around the rim and that’s going to be tough with Wemby in the paint. The Spurs are giving up the most points per game in the NBA this season but the Knicks are near the bottom in scoring and FG%.
🏀 Golden State Warriors @ Denver Nuggets, 10 pm on ESPN
The Nuggets are without Jamal Murray for the foreseeable future and that means the workload is on Nikola Jokic. Jokic is listed on the Nuggets’ injury report as probable as he’s dealing with wrist inflammation. He had the same status on Monday before the Pelicans game and ended up playing 36 minutes and had a triple-double (35 pts, 14 reb, 12 ast).
NHL Update
🏒 The Calgary Flames grabbed a 4-2 comeback win over the Nashville Predators last night after trailing 2-1 heading in the 3rd period.
🏒 Things got chippy in a Colorada Avalanche win against the NJ Devils. Colorado forward Ross Colton was ejected for cross-checking after he already received a minor penalty earlier for boarding. The Devils used the major penalty to tie the match up 3-3 but Colorado would ultimately win 6-3.
🏒 The Carolina Hurricanes had a close call against the Buffalo Sabres last night and snuck out a home win with a Martin Necas goal just 90 seconds into the extra time
NHL on TNT
We’ve got 2 matchups on TNT tonight.
🏒 Florida Panthers @ Washington Capitals, 7:30 pm ET on TNT
🏒LA Kings @ Vegas Golden Knights, 10 pm ET on TNT
College Bball
🏀 No. 8 Creighton opened their season with a massive win over Florida A&M. Creighton hit 18 3-pointers last night in a 105-54 win. Creighton was up 56-27 at the end of the first half and the starters took the rest of the night off 8 minutes into the 2nd.
💸 Kansas HC Bill Self is getting himself paid. Self signed a lifetime contract on Tuesday that will pay him $53 million over the next five years and the contract can be renegotiated at the end of the 2025-2026 season.
Where Does the Michigan Sign Stealing Scandal Stand?
🔭 Let’s take a closer look at the Michigan sign-stealing scandal.
👉️ Where’d we leave off? Michigan was accused of stealing signs, we found out Connor Stalions was the responsible dude, he’s a bit off his rocker, and he resigned from the program. It looks like he was sneaking his way around other programs and gathering signs, and he may even have found his way onto the sidelines during a competitor’s game.
👀Where are we now? Well, the NCAA is still investigating this, the Big 10 conference wanted to discipline Michigan and Michigan had to respond to the notice of discipline from the conference by today. Michigan apparently has responded and it seems that the U of M program gathered some evidence that other Big 10 teams were stealing and sharing their signals. It’s unclear if the other schools used the in-person scouting techniques Michigan is being accused of.
