COLLEGE FOOTBALL IS BACK

In partnership with

College Football is back, and with Florida State narrowly missing out on the College Football Playoff last year, they are looking to increase their luck today as they take on Georgia Tech in Ireland!

We’ve got football and more today. So let’s take a quick look at recent happenings, and then we’ll get those grills fired up.

These cannabis gummies keep selling out in 2024

If you've ever struggled to enjoy cannabis due to the harshness of smoking or vaping, you're not alone. That’s why these new cannabis gummies caught our eye.

Mood is an online dispensary that has invented a “joint within a gummy” that’s extremely potent yet federally-legal. Their gummies are formulated to tap into the human body’s endocannabinoid system.

Although this system was discovered in the 1990’s, farmers and scientists at Mood were among the first to figure out how to tap into it with cannabis gummies. Just 1 of their rapid onset THC gummies can get you feeling right within 5 minutes!

What’s been happening the last few days?

⚾️ Shohei Ohtani became the first Dodgers player to reach 40 home runs and 40 stolen bases in a season after hitting a walk off grand slam last night. Ohtani is the 6th player in MLB history to accomplish this and did it in just 126 games.

⚾️ Turn Two 👉️ Danny Jansen is going to play for two teams in just one game…Sounds unbelievable, right? Let’s make it more believable. Jansen was playing for the Toronto Blue Jays on June 26 in a game that got rained out against the Boston Red Sox at Fenway. Well, the game was rescheduled for this Monday (yes, a 2-month delay), and Jansen was traded from Toronto to Boston at the end of July. Jansen will not be in the lineup for the Red Sox when the game resumes.

⛳️ The PGA Tour is in their second round of playoffs with the BMW Championship being played at Castle Pines Golf Club just a bit south of Denver. Balls are flying high at altitude, and Adam Scott is currently leading at -13. He’s looking for his 15th PGA Tour win and a chance to move on to the FedEx Cup Championship. Hideki Matsuyama, last week’s winner at the St. Jude Championship, has withdrawn with a sore back. Matsuyama won’t miss out on the final playoff round, as he sits 3rd in the FedEx Cup standings right now.

⛳️Nelly Korda is leading the way for the women’s Open Championship being played at St. Andrews in Scotland. Korda has a 3-stroke lead (-8) over Charley Hull and Lilia Vu(-5). Korda is looking to win her 2nd major of the season.

🎾 The US Open's first round of matches will be held on Monday, starting at 11 a.m. You can find out more info right here, but first, take a second to answer our question below!

🐺 The Big 12 is reportedly in talks with UConn regarding the school joining the conference. There hasn’t been a vote for membership or anything, but a big selling point seems to be how the UConn football team could develop better if they played in the conference and could spend more money on the program. Honestly, I’d be a little disappointed if we weren’t able to see some of the historic UConn basketball matchups that we’re used to seeing, but as always… money talks

Back To Football

We’re all super excited to get back to football, even if that means summer is ending. Just think about a brisk fall morning, tailgating outside of a stadium, and drinking a crisp IPA or the perfect light beer. That’s what living in the land of the free is all about. Don’t forget about the burgers and dogs!!

Now that we’re getting fired up, let’s take a closer look at the first game of the season.

Florida State vs Georgia Tech

📺️ Noon ET on ESPN

👉️ Usually FSU opens the season at home in Tallahassee or they’ll play at a neutral site like they did last year agaisnt LSU. This year, their first game is part of the Aer Lingus College Football Classic, where the teams will play in Dublin. Athletes get to travel to a cool destination, and fans get to plan their final summer vacation. There’s no doubt that the stadium is ready to host this game, but there’s on big difference you’l notice today. Aviva Stadium only holds 51,700, about half of what we expect from a regular college football turnout.

❓️ So, which FSU will see today? Will we see the same dominant defense as last year? Will the offense be lackluster with Jordan Travis moving on? Will quarterback DJ Uiagalelei be the spark the team needs? There’s only one way to find out if the #10 team in the nation deserves the ranking.

👀 Don’t worry, we see Georgia Tech too. GT is in their 2nd full season with head coach Brent Key, and he had the team finish with a winning record last season. They’ve got a returning dual-threat QB, and the Yellow Jackets scored 45 points three times last season. Can they cover an 11.5-point spread? Possibly. But I think the 55.5 under is the way to go. It’s going to be windy in Dublin today, and I’m just not sure this is worth the four extra points after the initial line opened at 51.5
