Denver Broncos Are Heading To The Canadian Football Leauge

Where do we start? I guess we’ll start with a Good Morning and we’ll set some ground rules today. We’re talking NFL only this morning and tomorrow we’ll cover some college ball and MLB. But for now, let’s talk the NFL.

Dolphins Make A Huge Splash In Their Home Opener

The Miami Dolphins destroyed the Denver Broncos 70-20 on Sunday. It’s so bad I think the Broncos should be relegated to the CFL. Is that even a thing? NOPE. Should we still do it? Why not! I’m not sure the Broncos would even beat the Saskatchewan Roughriders.

There are so many things to cover here.

Miami’s offense finished with 726 total yards.

Raheem Moster had 4 TDs

De’Von Achane had 4 TDs

Tyreek Hill was unstoppable once again with 9 catches for 157 and a TD. He’s got a TD in every game this season.

TUA THREW MORE TOUCHDOWN PASSES (4) THAN INCOMPLETIONS (3). Tua was 23 for 26 for 309 yards. Basically, if Tua had dropped back 6 times already, the next time he dropped back, it would result in a touchdown. That’s not really how it works, but hey… quick maths!

What’s The Opposite Of A Splash?

Whatever is the opposite of a splash, that’s what the Dallas Cowboys did yesterday.

The Cowboys led the Cardinals in practically every statistic except 3. Turnovers, penalties, and most importantly, points.

The Cowboys rolled through their first two games, destroying both the New York Giants and New York Jets, and maybe they were looking ahead to the Patriots next week. Whatever it was, they definitely overlooked the Arizona Cardinals.

Even though the Cowboys outgained the Cardinals, had more time of possession, more first downs, and had better third-down efficiency, something just looked off. Dak looked jittery in the pocket and wasn’t making good choices. The playcalling seemed scattered by Mike McCarthy. Even the Cowboys’ defense was lacking. Micah Parsons wasn’t all over the QB like normal. Defensive backs were getting caught up on crossing routes.

One of the big things for the Cardinals was their big plays in this game. Every football guy knows.. the one thing you always want to limit are explosive plays. Arizona had big runs and big passes(in big moments) and they scored on every possession in the first half. Another thing that the Cardinals are impressing me with is the play from QB Josh Dobbs. Dobbs is helping the Cardinals average 25 points a game and he’s not turning the ball over. Best of all, everyone was questioning why the Cardinals would bring him in as the starter at the beginning of the season!

Rapid Fire Time

Let’s go through some big scores and have a little chit-chat about what went down on Sunday.

Tennesse Titans 3, Cleveland Browns 27

  • The Browns showed up at home on Sunday and Deshaun Watson might have played his best game since joining the Browns. He threw for 289 yards and 2 TDs. Browns DE Myles Garrett is still a beast and he had 3.5 sacks yesterday.

Atlanta Falcons 6, Detroit Lions 20

  • The blueprint to beat the Falcons is set in week 3. The Lions stacked the box and Bijan Robinson and Tyler Allgeier were at a disadvantage all day. The Falcons could not get their passing game going and that means they couldn’t force the Lions to ease up on the run defense. Falcons QB Desmond Ridder threw for 201 yards on 38 pass attempts and was sacked 7 times.

New Orlean Saints 17, Green Bay Packers 18

  • The Jordan Love experiment is working in Green Bay and he’s doing just enough to win games. He completed 50% of his passes, which is pretty bad in today’s standards, but he threw for 259, 1 TD, and 1 INT. The Saints’ defense held up okay, only allowing 18 points but the story here is that they’ll be without starting QB Derek Carr for a few weeks. Carr was slammed down and has a sprained AC joint in what looks like his throwing shoulder.

LA Chargers 28, Minnesota Vikings 24

  • This year is going exactly how we expected for the Vikings. They are on the opposite side of 1-score games and are now 0-3 after winning their division last year. Justin Herbert is continuing to look good for the Chargers and Keenan Allen looked great in week 3. Herbert was 40 for 47 and threw for 405 yards and 3 TDs. He connected with Keenan Allen 18 times for 205 yards.

Buffalo Bills 37, Washington Commanders 3

  • The Bills defense dominated in this game with 5 turnovers including a pick-six. The defense also sacked Sam Howell 9 times. That made things a little easier for Josh Allen who still threw for 218 yards and a touchdown. The only problem is Allen still threw a pick. The Bills face the Dolphins next week and you can’t give the ball back to Tua when the Dolphins offense is looking like a Red Bull F1 car and the rest of the league looks like a Toyota Camry.

Let’s Pick Up The Pace!

Houston Texans 37, Jacksonville Jaguars 17

  • The Jags are stalling a big and are 1-2 after we expected them to be a breakout team. CJ Stroud played a good game for the Texans and he becomes the first player to have 900 passing yards, 4 TDs, and 0 INTs in his first 3 starts

Indianapolis Colts 22, Baltimore Ravens 19

  • Gardner Minshew pulls out the win for the Colts but only after there was an egregious no-call by the refs in OT on what should’ve been a first down PI call for the Ravens. No complaining though, the Ravens could just win in regulation.

KC Chiefs 41, Chicago Bears 10

  • The Chiefs offense must’ve listened to Shake It Off by Taylor Swift before the game because they shook some of the rust off. Travis might have scored on the field but he gets some extra points for being seen leaving the stadium with Swift. Even Bill Belichick said Swift could be the best catch of his career. (this is the last time we’re hopefully mentioning this)

Pittsburgh Steelers 23, Las Vegas Raiders 18

  • Jimmy G had a rough day for the Raiders who were close to making a 4th quarter comeback. Garoppolo threw 3 picks and was sacked 4 times and it wasn’t necessarily the Steelers’ best effort. Jimmy held the ball a bit too long and made some rough decisions from the pocket. Kenny Pickett threw for 235 and 2 TDs for the Steelers.

Another 2 Game Treat Tonight

Game 1

Philadelphia Eagles @ Tampa Bay Buccaneers, 7:15 pm ET on ABC

  • Both teams are 2-0. The Eagles seem to be underperforming but the Bucs seem to be overperforming. Vegas still sees the Eagles as the top dog here as they are giving 5 points to the Bucs. I think this will be a statement game for Philly, Jalen Hurts is about to go off, and Baker Mayfield might throw 3 picks for the Bucs. I think the Eagles cover ATS.

LA Rams @ Cincinnati Bengals, 8:15 pm ET on ESPN

  • The Rams are a two-point underdogs heading into Cincinnati to face a Bengals team that’s been struggling this year. The Bengals are facing an uphill battle as their QB Joe Burrow will likely be out with a calf strain. The line originally opened at -6.5 for the Bengals and has moved down to -2 with the news that Burrow is a game-time decision. I can’t really see the Bengals winning this game without Burrow on the field. I’m taking the Rams moneyline +110.

We went a little over the time today, but hopefully, you enjoy the read.
