Denver Is Close To Striking Gold

Good Morning. This is the Daily Breakroom and while we hope your pancake stack is tall, we’re keeping today’s article short. We’ve got a few items to cover in the sports world so let’s jump right in and get your Saturday going.

NBA Finals

The Denver Nuggets defeated the Miami Heat 108-95 and are now one win away from Denver’s first-ever NBA Championship. Here’s how game 4 went down.

Nikola Jokic rolled his ankle midway through the first and needed to exit the game for a bit. Jamal Murray picked up right where he left off in game 3, scoring a few buckets until Jokic could get on the court. Miami would grab a lead at the end of the first and maintain it early in the 2nd quarter but shots started to fall for Denver.

Denver would have a 4-point lead at the end of the first half and that lead would extend to 10 at the end of the 3rd. Miami would start to inch closer in the 4th but Denver wouldn’t let the Heat back in. Denver would eventually close it out, this time with the help of Bruce Brown’s play in the 4th quarter.

Denver's success so far in the Finals can be contributed to great team play. Someone always seems to be picking up some scoring slack. Jamal Murray only scored 15 last night and it was Aaron Gordon and Bruce Brown who both helped tremendously by scoring 27 and 21, respectively. Jokic still had a good night with 23. Jimmy Butler scored 25 and Bam Adebayo scored 20 for Miami. With the Heat only getting points from their #1 and #2, it’s going to be a difficult battle to back into the series.

Stanley Cup Finals

We’ve got game 4 of the Stanley Cup tonight at 8:30 pm ET on TNT. The Vegas Golden Knights lead the Florida Panthers 2-1 in the final series.

College Football

Did you like that little teaser on college football yesterday? Mmm, we bet you did.

If you haven’t been following college ball over the spring, you might not be up to date on all the transfers. Check out this article on ESPN where they dig into the transfer portal and rank the college teams with the most successful moves.
