DENVER NUGGETS REACH NEW HEIGHTS!!
+ Another Game 5 Tonight
Good Morning and Happy Tuesday. It’s a sad day with the NBA season ending last night, but don’t worry, the NBA draft is around the corner and so is something else….. yes that something else is football. Grab a 2nd cup of joe today and catch up on the latest action.
Here’s what we got today:
🏆️ NBA Finals
🏒 Stanley Cup
⚾️ College Baseball
🏈 NFL News
⚽️ Mmm…What?
Let’s go.
Denver Flying A Mile High
The Denver Nuggets are NBA Champions for the first time after a physical game 5 win over the Miami Heat. Denver defeated Miami 94-89 and Miami had every chance to get this thing back to South Florida for game 6.
It was a rough start for Denver as they were in early foul trouble, were only 18% from 3, hit just over half their free throws, and had more turnovers than a pastry shop. With the Heat leading after 3 quarters, the Nuggets locked it down on defense and had just enough clutch shots drop in order to secure the finals trophy.
Nikola Jokic won the Finals MVP award after putting up 28 points and grabbing 16 rebounds last night. Jokic finished the finals averaging 30.2 points, 14 rebounds, and 7.2 assists per game.
Denver was flying high last and the Nuggets players even claimed now that they are healthy and they tasted a championship, this won’t be the last one they win.
Check out the highlights from this physical game.
Stanley Cup
The Vegas Golden Knights are one game away from winning the Stanley Cup and partying it up in Sin City. Tune in to TNT at 8:00 pm ET for game 5 of the Stanley Cup Finals and see if the Florida Panthers can force a game 6 back in Sunrise, FL.
College Baseball
Stanford defeated Texas 7-6 in the NCAA Baseball Regional to advance to the College World Series Tournament.
Tennessee defeated Southern Miss 5-0 in their Regional to advance to the College World Series Tournament.
We’ll have more to come on the College World Series later this week.
NFL News
26-year-old running back Saquon Barkley is considering sitting out the season for the New York Giants if he’s forced to play under the franchise tag. Barkley said he would like to be a Giant for life but he feels the franchise tag is disrespectful and he’s looking to ink a longer term with the team. Saquon is set to get paid $10.1 million under the tag for the 2023 season.
Should the New York Giants give Saquon a long term deal? |
Mmm…what?
Kylian Mbappe, one of the world’s best soccer players has informed his club, Paris St. Germain, that he will not be extending his contract beyond 2024 with the team. This leaves some open questions on what PSG will do with Mbappe. Will they keep him on the roster for next season and try to win a trophy or will they look to trade his rights for 1 year and possibly grab 9 figures that will help with a rebuild of the team? Either way, it doesn’t seem like this is a bluff from Mbappe, it seems like he’s sincere about leaving and finding his own way with a new club.
That’s all for today. Have a great Tuesday.
