Derby Day

Grab A Mint Julep!

Happy Derby Day. We hope you all enjoyed your margs last night. Let’s cover some horse racing and then we’ll get to some NBA and NHL.

Kentucky Derby

Not only is the Kentucky Derby one of the most prestigious events in the world, but it is also one that has been held annually since 1875. This major event that brings thousands of attendees together for fine dressing, hats, cigars and parties also draws thousands of more fans who watch from their homes for an extended two minutes.

It’s a spectacle for all to enjoy, even if you aren’t betting the big $$.

The race should take off at 6:57 pm ET, so grab a Mint Julep and check out our betting guide below.

Forte is the 5-2 odd horse here. The favorite rarely wins at the Derby, but Forte might be the best horse.

Want to mix in some other horses to the bets? Try these 3-year-olds….

Verifying (15-1 odds): Trained by Brad Cox and was second in the blue grass stakes

Tapit Trice (5-1): Has won the Tampa Bay Derby and Blue Grass Stakes but needs improvement. If there are lots of random scratches, look for Tapit Trice.

So what do we actually recommend betting?
Well, we’re not the expert handicappers so we already asked our friends at CBS Horse Racing so check out these bets
