Detroit Pistons Are Out Here Setting Records
Before we get into the nitty-gritty, I’d like to remind all the Detroit fanatics out there that the Lions just clinched a division title for the first time in 30 years. But wow, the Detroit Pistons are running out of gas. Hell, I don’t think they’ve put any gas in the tank the entire year. Let’s break this thing down and discuss a few other topics today.
Pistons Set NBA Record
Any publicity is good publicity.
MAYBE NOT.
The Detroit Pistons made NBA history after they dropped their 27th straight game with a 118-112 loss to the Brooklyn Nets.
It's the most consecutive losses in a single season in league history. The 76ers have the overall record, losing 28 straight, but that spanned the 2014-15 and 2015-16 seasons.
The Pistons were almost able to avoid the headlines this morning after they had their first double-digit lead in a game since Nov 12 but would turn the ball over a few times and would head into halftime down 7. The Pistons would eventually get a lead in the 4th quarter when they were up 97-92 with about 8 minutes to go, but the Nets would go on a 26-15 scoring run to close this out.
The Pistons play the Boston Celtics tomorrow night, so it’s pretty likely Detroit will end up tying the overall record of 28 straight losses that the Sixers had between the two seasons.
Here’s a wild question.
Are the Lions going to finish with more wins than the Pistons?
The Lions, who play a 17-game season, are 11-4 right now. The Pistons play an 82-game season and are 2-28.
Grizzlies Move to 4-0 With Morant
Ja Morant had his third 30-point performance in just four games since his return to the NBA.
Morant scored 31 points in a 116-115 overtime win over the New Orleans Pelicans, and that included this sick jam by Morant.
JA MORANT. SEALS THE DEAL.
Memphis pulls out the win in an OT thriller!

College Bowl Games
Good News For Kansas
🏈Kansas got their first bowl win since 2008, thanks to a 6 TD performance from QB Jason Bean. Kansas beat UNLV 49-36, and Bean was 19-28 for 449 yards and 3 INTs with his 6 TD passes.
🏈More good news for Knasas comes as top RB Devin Neal is planning to return for the 2024 season. Neal finished with 71 yards on the ground and a TD in last night’s game.
Texas State Dominates Rice
🏈 Texas State beat up Rice 45-21 last night, and that is usually expected to happen when a team turns the ball over six times. Texas State only needed 300 total yards of offense to put up 45 points as they intercepted Rice QBs 5 times, and Texas State recovered a muffed punt. 2 of the interceptions were brought back to the house by LB Brian Holloway.
Minnesota Outlasts Bowling Green
💪 Minnesota muscled their way to a 30-24 win over Bowling Green with 255 rushing yards and 2 TDs on the ground. Don’t let me throw shade, as Minnesota had two passing touchdowns, but Cole Kramer only had to complete 8 of 16 passes for 26 yards.
⌛️ Time ran out for Bowling Green who was trying to make a comeback and scored with 2:33 remaining the 4th to make it a one possession game. Minnesota would get the ball back and close it out.
