Donovan Mitchell has some marbles

Good Morning and Happy Friday Y’all

This is the Daily Breakroom. We’re the Robin to your Batman, giving you a little sports help to get you through the day.

Here’s what we got today:

🏀 Performance of the Day

🏀 Cheap shot in Cleveland

🏀 NBA Updates

🏀 Playing with the wrong ball

🏈QB’s on the move

It’s a bit longer today but, Here We Go:

Performance of the Day

We’re giving the POTD to Giannis Antetokounmpo as he carried the Bucks to a 106-105 win over the LA Clippers. The Greek Freak scored 54 points and had 19 rebounds. What’s crazier is he’s been averaging 40 points and almost 15 rebounds in his last 10 games.

Donovan Mitchell has some marbles

And Dillon Brooks found out. Last night the Cleveland Cavaliers hosted the Memphis Grizzlies. During the Cavs 128-113 win, Grizzlies small forward Dillon Brooks hit the floor after driving the lane for a layup and as he turned over on his back he swung his arm and landed a rather forceful blow to Cav’s guard Donovan Mitchell’s groin area. Mitchell wasn’t thrilled (wouldn’t expect him to be) and he proceeded to throw a ball at and drag down Brooks. You can watch it unravel below.

Other NBA News

Luka Doncic faces another injury as he suffered a right heel contusion during a blocked dunk attempt in a win last night where the Dallas Mavericks outscored the New Orleans Pelicans 111-106. There is no timeline on his return yet, although it seems it will be day to day.

LeBron James is inching closer to becoming the all time leading scorer in NBA history. He is only 63 points away from passing current all time leader Kareem Abdul-Jabbar. It’s projected that he will break the record during Thursday night’s home game when the Los Angeles Lakers host the Milwaukee Bucks.

Womens BBall Mixup

In a NCAA Womens Basketball matchup where the Duke Blue Devils lost to the Florida Seminoles in Tallahassee, it appears that the first half of the game was played with a men’s basketball. The men’s ball is larger and heavier than the women’s ball and the Duke players complained about the ball being “weird”. A Duke coached check in at the scorers table at halftime, where the mistake was found. What’s even weirder is that the ACC and Florida State is denying it happened. Duke Blue Devil’s Coach Kara Lawson has tried to appeal the game but the conference will not let her.

QB movement in the NFL

The NFL has a monopoly on our attention basically year round. So it’s no surprise that what Aaron Rodgers talks about on when playing in the Pebble Beach Pro-Am is trending. Watch the video below to check out where he’s definitely not going for his next playing destination.

And while Aaron Rodgers might know where he isn’t going, Derek Carr certainly knows he won’t be sticking around Sin City. The Las Vegas QB made that clear in yesterday’s NFL Pro Bowl Activities. Check it out.

Have a Great Day!
