This Don't Make No Sense

First of all, good morning!

Second of all, the Warriors confuse me.

Thirdly, we’ve got lots more to talk about, including dog sledding.

Let’s get to it.

Warriors Get Redemption

As I was sitting on the couch watching this game and putting together furniture, frustrated by how much cardboard I had to break down and almost having a breakdown myself as the instructions were so bad, I couldn’t help but think the Warriors lost their instruction manual.

How does a team go from losing to the Boston Celtics by 52 just a few nights ago to beating the #2 seed in the east by 35 points?

The Warriors are lucky this isn’t actual war; they’d have no players left after their massacre at the Garden, but lucky for them, they all got to fly home to San Francisco and dominate the Milwaukee Bucks.

The Warriors had a 20-point lead at the end of the half, and I was confused. Are the Warriors good? Are the Bucks bad? Will the Warriors blow a 20-point lead like every other team this year? Well, the Warriors took an 8-point hit in the third quarter and were outscored 23-15, which is kind of low for both teams. THEN THE WARRIORS HELD THE BUCKS TO JUST 9 POINTS IN THE FOURTH QUARTER! And Golden State dropped 32 on its own.

Someone explain it to me, please.

and someone come pick up my cardboard? Thanks!

btw. Steph Curry was 6-10 from 3 and had 29 points. Jonathan Kuminga was a beast last night. He scored 20 points and two 3s, which isn’t normal for him. On the Bucks side, Giannis returned to the lineup and had 23, Dame had 20, and Bobby Portis had 20.

High Scores + High Scorers Around The League

🏀 The Sacramento Kings and the LA Lakers battled it out in Southern California, and the Kings came out on top 130-120. Domantas Sabonis recorded another triple-double for the Kings with 16 points, 20 rebounds, and 12 assists. De’Aaron Fox led the way with 44 pints for Sacramento. LeBron led the Lakers with 31 points but left the game after injuring his ankle.

🏀 The Portland Trail Blazers played a challenging home game vs the OKC Thunder but fell short 128-120. Shai Gilgeous-Alexander had another 30-point game for the Thunder as he put up 37. The Thunder had more help as Jalen Williams hit for 31, Chet Holmgren had 21, and Josh Giddey scored 19. Anfernee Simons had 29 for the Trails Blazers

🏀 The Chicago Bulls had a 10-point lead in Utah heading into the 4th quarter last night. The Jazz would take the lead with 2 minutes to go on a Collin Sexton jumper, but the Bulls would close it out and win 119-117. Demar DeRozan had 29 for the Bulls, Colby White had 25, and Nikole Vucevic had 23. John Collins had 25 for the Jazz, and Collin Sexton finished with 24.

🏀 The LA Clippers found their way to a win last night playing a road game in Houston. The Clippers had a big 4th quarter where they outscored the Rockets 42-30 to win 122-116. The Clippers had a rough first half but found their way in the 2nd. It was an all-star win for the Clips as Paul George, Kawhi Leonard, and James Harden combined for 70 points in the win.

🏀 We had another fourth-quarter close call last night. The Orlando Magic only had a one-point lead over the Washington Wizards after the first three quarters. The Magic outscored the Wizards 35-26 to win 119-109. Franz Wagner had 29 for the Magic, and Paolo Banchero had 25. Kyle Kuzma continues to play well for the Wizards, as he had 26 points, and Jordan Poole came off the bench and scored 26.

The Red Wings Get Iced Out in Denver + Another OT Win for Toronto

🏒 The Detroit Red Wings might have scored the first goal of the game on a power play just two minutes into action, but the Colorado Avalanche didn’t care. The Avs would respond 3 minutes and wouldn’t stop as they would outscore Detroit 7-1 the rest of the way. Cale Makar recorded his first career hat trick in the dominant win. Only 2 of the 7 goals came from power plays for the Avalanche.

🍁 The Toronto Maple Leafs and Buffalo Sabres had a little battle between the borders last night and it was all defense. After trading goals just 4 minutes apart in the 2nd period and a few missed chances in the final 5 minutes of regulation, this thing would have to be settled in OT. The Leafs have been loving OT this year, and who else would be the perfect person to seal the deal for 2 points? You guessed it, Auston Matthews! He scored his 54th goal of the season to get Toronto the 2-1 win.

Arnold Palmer Invitational

The PGA Tour is starting to heat up as we’re on a Florida stretch of golf for the next few weeks. This week’s tournament brings in all the stars, especially as there is a $20 million purse, with almost $4 million going to the winner.

The Arnold Palmer Invitational is played at Bay Hill Club, a private resort just outside of Orlando, which was owned by the late and great Arnie himself.

The course stretches just over 7,400 yards and is one of the tougher courses on tour. Players will have long approaches thanks to long par 3’s and short par 5s, but many will have to carry some water. There are a few tough decisions golfers will need to make about club selection and shot shape, but even if you make it through 17 holes unscathed, the 18th isn’t a walk in the park.

The final hole is a par 4, 458-yard hole that usually has a pin tucked along the right side of the green just over the water. Yeah, I’ll need to pack an extra dozen for this hole 😉

You can catch the action all week on ESPN+ and find the broadcast schedule below

Thursday: 2-6 pm ET on The Golf Channel

Friday: 2-6 pm ET on The Golf Channel

Saturday: Noon Thirty on The Golf Channel, 2:30 on NBC

Sunday: 12:30 pm ET on The Golf Channel, 2:30 on NBC

If You Don’t Like Dogs, Skip To The End!

We all know what the Iditarod is, right? The “big” dog sledding race in Alaska. I don’t know how big it really is, but you get the point. You get those good boys aka sled dogs to pull you over 1,000 miles through 2 mountain ranges in Alaska and when you’re not yelling MUSH, MUSH, you get to snuggle up with the pups and keep warm? (it doesn’t actually happen like that but we love the idea).

Occasionally, mushers will come across animals that are a danger to them or their dogs, and they need to take action. Well, Dallas Seavey, a 5-time winner, was forced to kill an angry moose the other day, and as part of the rules, he has to gut the moose a certain way and then notify officials at the next checkpoint.

Seavey did all of this, but apparently, he gutted the moose improperly and was docked with a 2-hour time penalty.

Guess what, the race officials send someone to get the recently killed animal and then distributed the meat in towns and people eat it!

I know no one is paying attention to the Iditarod, but we still think this is pretty cool!

That’s going to be all for today. Ya’ll have a great day, and we’ll see you tomorrow.
