WAS THE ENDING OF THAT GAME SCRIPTED??

Wowzers… what an ending to the Iowa/UConn last night. I feel like that was scripted! and I’m not one for conspiracy theories. Oh well. We’ll do a little recap for the Women’s Final Four, look at the Men’s Final Four tonight and talk about a few other sports before we return Monday morning.

Let’s get to it.

Headlines

🏀 Last things first. The Iowa Hawkeyes were in big, big trouble against the UConn Huskies in the women’s final four last night. UConn had a 12-point lead in the first half after completely shutting down Caitlin Clark, and Iowa opened things up in the 2nd half. Clark finished with 21 points on the night, but the real story was one of the final plays where UConn could’ve taken a lead with a few seconds left on the clock, and they were called for an illegal screen. I’m not one to believe in foul discrepancies normally, but this was not the same as the West Virginia vs. Iowa game where WV was so physical it was absurd. The refs called the softest game against UConn and called 18 fouls against the Huskies compared to 9 fouls against Iowa. Final score was 71-69 and Iowa makes it to their 2nd straight national title game. If you don’t think this was a little scripted by the NCAA because they want more attention on the women’s game to drive more revenue, you live in a land of make believe.

🏀 South Carolina let in a little scare from NC State last as they only had a 1-point lead going into the locker room at the half. You were probably wondering if SC would be handed their first loss of the season…. lol not so fast! South Carolina little sistered NC State in the third quarter, outscoring them 29-6. Not much more needs to be said except the final score was 78-59 and South Carolina is looking to go a perfect a 38-0 this season.

⚾️ The Yankees were shutout during their home opener for the first time 1967! They lost to the Blue Jays 3-0!

🏀 Joel Embiid made his return to the court on Tuesday after being out with a menisucs tear. The only problem is the Sixers didn’t list him as returning prior to the game. What did the NBA do? They fined the Sixers, $100k. That’s like fining your average joe 25 cents. CHUMP CHANG.

Highlights

🏀 For some odd reason, all the high scorers in the NBA lost last night. De’Aaron Fox scored 40 for the Kings and they lost to Boston 101-100. Damian Lillard scored 36 points for the Bucks and lost 117-111 points to the Raptors. Jalen Brunson put up 35 for the Knicks and lost 108-100 to the Heat. Weird night!

🏀 Are the Suns finally heating up? They beat the Timberwolves 97-87 last night and got double-digit points from all their starters. The Suns are currently sitting in the 6th playoff spot and are just narrowly avoiding the play-in tournament.

🏒 The Arizona Coyotes score six goals in 9 minute last night in a 7-4 win over the Vegas Golden Knights. Check it out.

One Bet To Make Today

💰️ Just take your money and put it on the UConn Huskies to beat Alabama in the final four today. UConn is 11.5-point favorites, Alabama is dealing with a few injuries, and they don’t have a ton of depth, and UConn is the most complete team in the nation. Put $100 down (or don’t), and then go buy yourself some new sneakers tomorrow. YOU’RE WELCOME.
