Europe Leads Ryder Cup With Wide Margin

Good Morning and welcome to the weekend. We’ve got a few things to cover today, let’s see what’s on the agenda.

⛳️Ryder Cup Day 1 & 2

🏈 Friday Night Upset

🏈 Games To Look Out For Today

Ryder Cup

The Europeans put a beat down on the Americans in both the morning and afternoon sessions. Europe went 4-0 in the morning and it was looking like the US was about to grab 3 points in the afternoon but the Europeans had some heroics on 18 and managed to sneak another 2.5 points. Fridays end of day total was Europe 6.5 and the US 1.5.

Coming into Saturday’s morning session, the Americans just needed to get hot in the same way Team Europe did. Did that happen? Of course not! Team USA went down 3-1. USA not getting hot wasn’t from a lack of trying, it’s just guys like Rory, Viktor Hovland, Tommy Fleetwood, and John Rahm are all playing so well and they’re making long long long putts.

The afternoon session is already underway for Saturday and if the US can snag at least 3 points this will a Sunday comeback a little more probable.

We could kill you with analysis on this today but the best way to catch is to probably watch some highlights, so here you go.

Friday Night Upset

The #19 Oregon State Beavers hosted the #10 Utah Utes and the Utes were no match for the Beavers. Utah was upset 21-7 on a night where their Utes’ offense was practically non-existent. QB Cam Rising did not play again but they could’ve used him. Utah only had 198 yards of total offense and that simply isnt’ going to get the job done in a Pac-12 matchup.

While the offense was pretty bad for Utah and they brought in their 3rd stringer after Nate Johnson only completed 12 of 35 passes, the defense was trying to keep the team in the game. Utah only allowed 14 points up until Oregon St. pulled out a sweet play where they set up for a QB sneak but pitched the ball to the outside and scored on the 45-yard run.

Games To Look Out For Today

We’ve got a few Top 25 matchups to check out today. Let’s do a quick check-in on each game.

#24 Kansas at #3 Texas, 3:30 pm ET on ABC
  • I haven’t watched a lot of Kansas football this year but this Texas team doesn’t seem like the team of the past where they just roll over for their competition and play down to their level. Did that happen against Wyoming? Sure, the Longhorns came out flat but I’d chalk it up to them taking some time to get hyped after a huge the week before at Alabama. Kansas is getting 16.5 points this week and the O/U is 61.5. I’d probably stay away from the spread here, but if I had to choose something I would take Texas ATS and the under

#13 LSU at #20 Ole Miss, 6:00 pm ET on ESPN
  • This LSU team opened flat against a talented Florida State, but I think this team is full of talent. They’ll travel to Ole Miss and face a talented offense. The LSU and Ole Miss offenses lead the nation in big plays, so I think this will be a high-scoring game. LSU is 2.5 favorites and the O/U is 67. I’d be taking LSU and the over, but man 67 is a lot of points!

#11 Notre Dame at #17 Duke, 7:30 pm ET on ABC
  • Notre Dame is coming off a tough loss against Ohio State and Duke is undefeated. Duke is undefeated and will be trying to make a statement tonight. Notre Dame is favored by 5.5 points and the O/U is 52.5. I think Duke can easily cover and if they play perfectly, they can win this game, so I’m taking Duke ATS. I also think this could end up a low-scoring game but I’m leaning more towards a 27-24 Notre Dame win, so take the over if you want!

Enjoy the action today!

Cheers,
