Let’s go.

Tale of Two Games

Saturday’s Final Four brought us two very different games with very different finishes.

5 San Diego State Aztecs vs 9 FAU Owls

It looked like a 9 seed was going to making it to the championship game as San Diego State was down 14 with 14 minutes to go in the game. Anything can happen, especially in the Final Four. With about 11 minutes to go, FAU still maintained a 10 point lead and it was feeling like this might be out of reach for San Diego State. Then the Aztecs started to turn it up. The Aztecs started to tally up the rebounds and the points and cut the lead down.

The game was close in the final minutes with FAU still leading. It wasn’t until the final 30 seconds when FAU came down the court with a 1 point lead and the Owls tried to extend the lead to 3 with a drive to the hoop and the shot clock winding down. The Aztecs got the board and that was all she wrote. Lamont Butler came down the court in the final seconds, pulled up a baseline jumper and hit the game winning buzzer beater for San Diego State and brought the ultimate heartbreak to FAU.

4 UCONN Huskies vs 5 Miami Hurricanes

UCONN started off fast in this one. They were up 9-0 within the first 4 minutes of the game. Miami was able to tie it up with UCONN 19-19 at the 8:23 mark but would never take the lead in the game. UCONN was able to out physical and out talent Miami and went into the locker room with a 37-24 first half lead. Miami had trouble slowing down UCONN in the 2nd half as the Huskies were rebounding well, shooting lights out, and flying on fast breaks. Huskies defeated the ‘Canes 72-59 and are headed back to their 5th National Title game.

Women’s National Championship

2 Iowa vs 3 LSU at 3:30

2 seeded Iowa will face 3 seeded LSU at 3:30pm in Dallas today. Tune into ESPN to see if Caitlin Clark can continue her dominant performances for Iowa or if Alexis Morris and Angel Reese will be enough to get the job done for LSU. This would be the first national championship in women’s basketball for either sport.

More McDavid

Leon Draisaitl recorded a hat trick and his 50th goal in an Edmonton Oilers 6-0 win over the Anaheim Ducks. The Oilers clinch a spot in the Stanley Cup Playoffs with this win and are the 2nd team in the West to clinch.. We’ll be seeing more of the Oilers and Connor McDavid, who also scored a goal in last night’s win to record his 62nd for the season.

Check out the hatty here.

That’s all folks… and remember

Don’t let your Monday ruin your Sunday!
