Have you been to the eye doctor lately?

If that’s a no, don’t go schedule LASIK or get your eyes dilated or something like that for the next few days.

I mean the Sweet 16 starts up today in college basketball and we’ve got Major League Baseball’s Opening Day today!

Keep the contacts in and worry about your 👀 problems next week! 🤓

Headlines

⚾️ We’ve got MLB Opening Day. We’ve got 13 games being played, 2 of which are televised and 2 that have been postponed due to the rain. If you want a guide to every opening-day game, check this out.

🏀 We’re squeezing every bit of the madness out of March. We’ve got the Sweet 16 tipping off tonight. We have 4 games tonight, 4 games tomorrow, and then 2 elite 8 games on both Saturday and Sunday. Buckle up, people; we’ve got nothing but the best teams in the tournament left!

🏀 Caitlin Clark has reportedly been offered a “mega” deal by Ice Cube to play in the Big3 basketball league. It’s a $5 million offer, which is $3.5 million more than the team salary cap in the WNBA. Clark would play against men in the Big3 league, and she would still be allowed to play in the WNBA.

Hot Takes

🏀 We might be calling this early, but UConn is going to run the table the rest of the way and win the Natty. This might be similar to their run that no one expected last year when they beat everyone by double digits.

🏀 Draymond Green was ejected early in a Warriors game yesterday. His suspension earlier this season seems to have served him zero purpose, although this time it was nothing physical from Draymond that got him ejected. Check out what happened. I think this sums up a perfectly frustrating seasons for the Warriors and regardless of what we say later on today, I think their season is over.

🏀 The Celtics clinched their playoff berth about two weeks ago and they’re the heavy favorite to win the Eastern Conference but what about the Western Conference? We think the West is up for grabs, not just in the regular season but in the playoffs, too. Think about it. The Nuggets are leading the west but are tailed by Minnesota and OKC by .5 games. You also have the Clippers trailing, who could get hot in the playoffs at any time, and Dallas looks so good right now they could easily go on a run in playoffs. We didn’t even mention the Suns, Kings, Lakers, or Warriors, all of whom could easily get bounced in a play-in game or make it to the Western Conference Finals. We’ve got about 10 games left, and they are all going to make a difference. So what’s the hot take? Regardless, I think the Denver Nuggets run it back and we have a Nuggets vs Celtics Finals. 🤞finger crossed that the Knicks can do something though!

Highlights

🏀 Kevin Durant led the Suns to a 104-97 win over the Nuggets. KD scored 30 for the Suns.

🏀 Jalen Green dropped 37 points last, helping the Houston Rockets beat the OKC Thunder in OT and get the Rockets their 10th straight win in a row. The final score was 132-126. Amen Thompson also contributed 25 for Houston, and Josh Giddey had 31 for OKC, including this make from the floor.

🏀 The NY Knicks handed the Toronto Raptors their worst loss at home in Toronto history. The Knicks won 145-101., Miles McBride had a career-high 29 points for NY, and Jalen Bruson had 26. Precious Achiuwa also had 19 points and 12 rebounds against his former team(Achiuwa was traded to NY earlier this season from Toronto). The Knicks were also happy to have Mitchell Robinson back after he missed 50 games with an ankle injury.

🏀 LeBron James took a night off with a sore ankle on Tuesday and hit for a triple-double on Wednesday. James had 23 points ,14 rebounds, and 12 assists in the Lake’s 136-124 win over the Memphis Grizzlies. Rui Hachimura scored 32 for LA and D'Angelo Russell continues to be a great contributor as he scored 23 points. Desmon Bane led the Grizz with 26.

🏒The Boston Bruins had an opportunity to clinch playoffs last night, but the Tampa Bay Lightning forced Boston to go a few more days without a clinch after the Lightning got a 3-1 win at home in South Florida.
