Frosty Tips
+ Jimmy Butler Keeps Delivering
Today’s Estimated Reading Time: 3 minutes and 33 seconds
Howdy! It’s a cold Thursday morning at the Daily Breakroom, but unlike the PGA Championship, we won’t have a frost delay.
Here’s what we got today:
⛳️ PGA Championship Delayed Start
🏀 NBA Scores and Schedule
🏒 Welcome Back Lord Stanley
⚾️ Wednesday Whacks
🏀 In The Bonus
Let’s tee this thing off.

We got ourselves some frosty tips in Rochester, NY at Oak Hill Country Club. If you’re not a golfer, “the tips” are the set of tees that are the farthest back on the course and no, you shouldn’t be playing from them.
While it didn’t actually snow three weeks ago like Justin Thomas joked about, if there was any precipitation today it would’ve been coming down in the crystally, flakey form.
Temps reached as low as 31o F in the Western NY city and the grounds crew were out early to prep the course.
Tee times were originally set for 7:00 am ET but the range and putting greens couldn’t open until 7:35 am and 7:45 am, respectively. The first tee time is delayed 1 hour and 50 minutes and will go off at 8:50 am ET. It will be interesting to see how they get 156 golfers through 18 holes today with the sun setting at 8:30 pm.
NBA Scores and Schedule
Wednesday Night Matchup
Eastern Conference Finals, Heat up 1-0
Miami Heat 123
Boston Celtics 116
The Heat steal a huge road win in Boston after a 25-point swing. Boston had a 13-point lead with 2 minutes to go in the 2nd quarter. The Heat would outscore Boston by 21 in the 3rd quarter and grab a 12-point lead heading into the 4th
The Heat’s 46 points in the 3rd were a playoff record for the franchise and the 2nd most points Boston has ever given up in a playoff quarter.
Jayson Tatum had a stellar first half but his 2nd half was a bit rough. He finished with 30 points but didn’t get a single-shot attempt off in the 4th quarter.
Jimmy Butler had 35 points and did what he does best. He gets to the free-throw line. He was 9-10 from the charity line.
Western Conference Finals Game 2
Los Angeles Lakers at Denver Nuggets, 8:30 pm ET on ESPN
Nuggets lead series 1-0
Lord Stanley Returns
We had a few days off from the Stanley Cup Playoffs and we will have skaters on the ice tonight as the Eastern Conference Finals will have the puck drop at 8:00 pm ET. The Florida Panthers travel up the east coast to face the Carolina Hurricanes in Game 1 on TNT.
Wednesday Whacks
We had all the whacks on Wednesday including one that resulted in an injury.
The Houston Astros grabbed 4 runs in the bottom of the 9th and won with a walk-off poke to CF that brought in the game-tying and game-winning runs.

Now for the unfortunate whack. Manny Machado is day to day for the Padres as he took a pitch to the wrist that resulted in a fracture. The Padres are 4th in the NL West with a 20-24 record.

In The Bonus
If you’ve been paying close attention to all the basketball then you might know about some high school changes to the bonus rule. We’re not here to talk about that.. we’re here for a bonus round!
Steph Curry is going for the bonus money and might be on his way to becoming another billionaire baller.
Curry’s NBA contracts have totaled $473 million to date and when he’s not carrying the Warriors to wins, he’s carrying the Under Armour shoe business. In 2015, UnderArmour’s footwear business increased 350% YoY after signing Curry. He just added $75 million in UA equity and if his sales targets are met, his UA earnings would surpass that of his NBA earnings, according to The Hustle.
Pretty cool for a kid who came out of Davidson College and was considered small and weak with some bad ankles.
That’s all for today. Hang in there, the weekend is approaching!
