The Good, The Bad, and The Ugly... And The Really Good!
It’s Monday and we had some really awesome stuff take place on Sunday and then some not so awesome stuff, depending on who you’re a fan of.
Let’s dig through everything and get you on your way this afternoon.
Caitlin Clark Makes History…Again
Cailtin Clark scored 35 points vs #2 Ohio State last night and grabbed the all time scoring record for Men and Women in the NCAA. To add the frosting on top, #6 Iowa also got the big double-digit win 93-83.
Chris Mortenson Passes Away
Long team ESPN team member Chris Mortensen passed away at the age of 72 last night. Mort spent most of his tenure at ESPN on Sunday NFL Countdown, Monday Night Countdown, and Sportscenter. He was a familiar face to see anytime you were getting ready for the NFL, and he was loved by many. R.I.P.
Jalen Brunson Goes Down in 1st Minute of Game
Jalen Brunson went down with a non contact injury of the first minute of last night’s game where the Knicks faced the Cleveland Cavaliers. It was a scary moment when Brunson couldn’t get up on his own, but it’s apparently just a knee contusion.
It was the next man up for the Knicks as they got a much-needed win in Cleveland. Miles McBride stepped up, scored 16 points, and played 47 minutes as Brunson’s replacement.
The Knicks had a lot of help from Donte DiVincenzo who scored 28 points and Bojan Bogdanovic who scored 20.
The Celtics Bulldoze The Warriors
Where do you even want to start with this one?
🏀 The Celtics beat the Warriors by 52 points yesterday. 52 POINTS! THIS IS THE NBA PEOPLE! What is happening?
🏀 This ain’t the first time it’s happened for the Celtics this season, either. This was Boston’s 3rd win by 50 or more this season.
🏀 Jaylen Brown scored 29 points and Jayson Tatum had 27 for Boston
💪 The Celtics held Steph Curry to FOUR POINTS

If you know, you know.
On To The Rest Of Sunday
A Battle In The West
Two of the top teams in the Western Conference faced off yesterday in what was a low-scoring affair. The LA Clippers were able to outlast the Minnesota Timberwolves by 1 point last night. The Clips won 89-88.
Kawhi led the Clippers with 32, and Normal Powell added 24. Anthony Edwards led the way for the T-Wovles with 27 points.
The best part is, neither of these teams is in first place in the West!
OKC Sneaks On By
The Oklahoma City Thunder have snuck into the #1 seed in the West after a resilient win against the Phoenix Suns last night.
The Thunder were up by 19 with 10 minutes left in the third quarter. The Suns went on a massive run and before you know it, there was 11 minutes left in the 4th and Phoenix was up. NOT FOR LONG.
The Suns had the lead for just 4 minutes, OKC tied up, and then Shai Gilgeous-Alexander hit a jumper to take the lead back. The score was now 103-101, and things got out of hand for the Suns really fast!
Before you knew it, about 3 minutes had gone by, and the Thunder were up by eight and didn’t look back. The Thunder would win 118-110 and get 35 from SGA.
Bradley Beal led the scoring for Phoenix with 31 and KD had 20 but there was something more impressive from Jusuf Nurkic. Nurkic had 31 rebounds! Yes, you’re reading that right. He had THIRTY-ONE REBOUNDS.
