THE HOUSE ALWAYS WINS!

Today’s Estimated Reading Time: 4 minutes and 6 seconds

We’re not sure whether to say good morning or good night because we’re pretty sure the Golden Knights are still awake in Vegas after winning the Stanley Cup last night.

Here’s what we got today:

  • Stanley Cup Winners

  • Big Week in Golf + Drama

  • A Reverse Boycott??

  • A Sticky Situation For a NY Mets Pitcher

  • NY Rangers Fill Coaching Void

Here we go.

🏆️Vegas Golden Knights Win Stanley Cup🏆️

The Vegas Golden Knights destroyed the Florida Panthers last night 9-3 to win the Stanley Cup Final series 4 games to 1.

The Golden Knights won their first Cup in Franchise in history in front of a record-setting crowd and they did it in just six years of existence. It’s the fastest an NHL expansion team has won the Stanley Cup. Heck, there are a bunch of teams who haven’t won a cup and have been around for a long time.

Guess who scored for the Knights last night? Mark Stone (he recorded a hatty), Nicholas Hauge, Alec Martinez, Reilly Smith, Ivan Barbashev, Nicolas Roy, and Michael Amadia. Yup, that’s crazy.

Golden Knights forward Jonathan Marchessault won the Conn Smythe Trophy as the MVP of the playoffs after he finished with 13 goals and 12 assists.

Just call it a day at work and check out some highlights.

⛳️US Open + Drama⛳️

The 123rd U.S. Open heads to the historic Los Angeles Country Club where 156 players will tee it up on Thursday. We have LIV Golfers and PGA Tour Players coming together for the 3rd Major tournament of the year. LACC is laid out on 325 acres near Beverly Hills. There are five par 3s on the course as well as three par 5s. Check this… Hole 7 will be a 284-yard par 3 and hole 11 will be a 290-yard par 3. That’s two of the longest par 3’s in U.S. Open history. The par 3 at the 15th hole could be as short as 78 yards. We’ve got long par 3s, crazy fairways, and even crazier rough. Check it out.

We’ll give you more info on tee times and how to watch tomorrow but for now, check out some betting info so you can get all that sorted tonight.

Drama On Tour

Of course, there would be drama with the news of the PGA Tour and LIV merger, especially as the players are competing against each other this week. Here’s the thing, the drama and animosity don’t seem to be between players of the two leagues, it appears to be between the players of each league and their respective league management.

LIV golfer Cam Smith mentioned that he’s still really confused about what any of it means, and lots of things seem to need to be sorted.

PGA Tour golfers John Rahm and Collin Morikawa are feeling a bit betrayed. Rahm was blindsided by the move and admitted it wasn’t easy to see the news after being supportive of the Tour for the last year. Morikawa wants to know why the alliance happened. Players have been getting different responses from a bunch of different parties and one singular answer seems to be difficult to get.

Hopefully, the drama doesn’t get in the way of an awesome weekend of golf ahead.

⚾️ Reverse Boycott⚾️

The Oakland A’s fanbase hosted a reverse boycott for the team as owner John Fisher is planning to relocate the organization to Las Vegas. Thousands of A’s fans packed the stadium and parking lot and chanted “Sell the team” throughout the game. It’s one of the A’s largest attendance games after the organization started getting rid of their talented players, refusing to upgrade the stadium, and started charging more for tickets.

⚾️ A Sticky Situation⚾️

New York Mets’ reliever Drew Smith was ejected from the pitching mound last night and he didn’t even throw a pitch. He came out of the bullpen to start the 7th inning against the Yankees and he was thrown out for failing a sticky substance check before the inning even started.

🏒 Rangers Fill Coaching Void🏒

Yesterday, New York Rangers President and GM, Chris Drury announced that Peter Laviolette will be the Rangers’ 37th head coach in history.

Laviolette parted ways with the Washington Capitals in April after failing to make it to the playoffs. Laviolette won a Stanley Cup with Carolina in 2006 and led the Philadelphia Flyers and Nashville to a cup appearance in 2010 and 2017, respectively.

Rangers fans are expecting a Stanley Cup from this talented roster, let’s see what Laviolette can do as patience is waning.

That’s all for today. Have a great Wednesday.
