The Italian Superhero

+ an upset in Miami

It was a 2-for-1 Monday Night Football special and it featured New York’s favorite Italian superhero and we ain’t talking about really big subs. Well, I guess we are talking about subs because Tommy DeVito is a 3rd stringer.

Let’s get these Monday Night games cut up like an Italian Deli in Hoboken slices your chicken.

Green Bay Packers (6-7) 22 | NY Giants (5-8) 24

🏈Tommy DeVito delivered in an unlikely way on a Monday night. With the game on the line and the Giants down 1, DeVito took the Giants on a 57-yard drive that was capped with a game-winning 37-yard field goal from Randy Bullock. This was Matt LaFleur’s first loss in December since taking over as Packers HC in 2019.

👉️ Tommy DeVito managed the game by completing 17 of 21 passes for 158 yards and a TD. He also ran the ball for 71 yards on 10 carries. Saquon Barkley had 20 rushes for 86 yards and 2 tuddies. The Giants defense got 3 turnovers on the night.

👎️ Jordan Love almost led the Packers to a comeback win after the Packers recovered a Giants fumble and Love threw a TD pass on a 9-play 36-yard drive with 1:33 to go. Love finished the day 25/39 for 218 yards and had one TD and one INT.

Tennessee Titans (5-8) 28 | Miami Dolphins (9-4) 27

🏈 The Tennesse Titans did the improbable last night and upset the Dolphins on Miami’s home turf.

👀 Rookie Will Levis threw for a career-high 327 yards and had 2 touchdown drives in the final 4 minutes and 30 seconds of the game. Levis was 23/28 on the day.

🐬 The Dolphins held the Titans’ rushing attack to only 83 yards but Derrick Henry still cashed in 2 TDs on the ground. Tua struggled with some missed throws and left his receivers hanging out to dry a few times. Tyreek Hill had a limited role as he injured his ankle on a play and wasn’t able to play most snaps. Tua finished 23/33 for 240 yards but didn’t have any touchdowns. The Dolphins are no longer the top team in the AFC after this loss.

Sitting Out Of Bowl Season Begins

North Carolina QB Drake Maye has declared for the 2024 NFL Draft and will be sitting out of the Duke’s Mayo Bowl against West Virginia. Some believe that Maye could be the #1 draft pick over Caleb Williams this year. Maye is only a sophomore.
