Keeping the dream alive
Today is where dreams are made.
WNBA
NBA
NHL
Olympics
The list goes on so let’s get going!
WNBA
It’s a dream come true for Caitlin Clark and many other ballers in the women’s game.
🏀 Clark was selected as the #1 overall pick in the WNBA draft by the Indiana Fever in front of a sold-out crowd in Brooklyn. She’ll be getting a 4-year rookie deal worth $338,000. Don’t worry; she’ll make much more with endorsements.

👉️ Some superstars from the last few years were selected with the next six picks. The LA Sparks and Chicago Sky both had two picks in the first round and have added some great talent to the roster.

👀While the WNBA doesn’t get as many eyes as the college game, the 2024 season tips off in just a few weeks and it’s going to be cool to see how these ladies will adjust in the uber-talented pro league.
……
But wait, there’s more!
With all this talent and eyes around women’s basketball, the WNBA expects to add two more teams in the next 2 years and another 2 by 2028. That could bring the league to 16 teams.
The league is already adding its 13th team next year, which will be owned and operated by the Golden State Warriors.
Other cities that could get a team in the future include Philly, Portland, Denver, Nashville, and possibly an area in South Florida!
NBA
🏀 The NBA play-in games tip off tonight and this where dreams of NBA Championship live on or go to die real quick!
The Lakers face the Pelicans in the 7/8 game at 7:30 on TNT, and the Warriors face the Kings in the 9/10 game at 10 pm on TNT.
Here’s the deal.
The winners of the Lakers/Pelicans get the 7 seed for playoffs. The loser has to play the winner of the 9/10 game. The loser of the 9/10 game gets sent home and can pull their golf clubs out for the summer.
Whoever gets the 7 seed in the West has to face the Denver Nuggets and whoever gets the 8t seed has to face the OKC Thunder. I know which seed i’d rather have 😉
Stanley Cup Playoffs
We’re just coming directly with info here, no fluff.
The New York Rangers are taking home the Presidents' Trophy after securing the most points in the NHL this season. New York's 114 points are the most in franchise history, and their 55 wins are also a club record.
The New York Islanders punched a playoff ticket last night with a 4-1 win over the NJ Devils.
There’s one final playoff spot in the East and Washington currently holds the key to their own destiny.
Washington plays Philly tonight. If the Caps win, they’ll be in the playoffs. If the Caps lose, the door is open for the other three teams. Detroit faces Montreal tonight, and Pittsburgh faces the Islanders tomorrow night.
We have the potential for the four teams to finish with 89 points and if that happens Pittsburgh actually holds the tiebreak and they would get the final WC spot.
Check out the schedule for the next 2 days and don’t miss the action as the playoff spots is decided.
Are We Getting Another Dream Team
You are following along that today’s theme is all about keeping the dream alive, right?
Okay, the dream team might be an exaggeration as that’s really only allowed for a very specific Olympic basketball team, but Team USA is putting together quite the squad for Paris 2024.
Check this out. You get 12 spots for your Olympic roster, and the US has filled 11 of them. So far, it’s Stephen Curry, LeBron James, Kevin Durant, Jayson Tatum, Joel Embiid, Devin Booker, Tyrese Haliburton, Anthony Edwards, Jrue Holiday, Bam Adebayo, and Anthony Davis.
The 12th roster spot has yet to be filled, but it’s apparently a race between Kawhi Leonard, Paul George, Paolo Banchero, Mikal Bridges, and Jalen Brunson.
THAT IS A STACKED ROSTER!
That’s all for today. Enjoy whatever you decide to watch and get ready for the next few months of playoffs!
Stay dreaming people!
