Knicks and Warriors Need To Win 3 Straight
Are their seasons over?
Today’s Estimated Reading Time: 3 minutes and 16 seconds
Howdy. This is the Daily Breakroom and we’re to drop some updates. Like how the Knicks and Warriors seasons are close to over as both teams will need to win 3 straight games to advance to the NBA conference championships. We also have some other NHL news and we are wondering if Andrew Luck could possibly come out of retirement?
Let’s jump into it.
NBA Scores and Schedule
Monday Scores
New York Knicks 101
Miami Heat 109
The Knicks fell in a game that came down to numbers. The Knicks shot 48% overall from the field and 32% from beyond the arc and Miami shot 47% overall and 33% from deep. The difference? The number and type of attempts. Miami got 9 more shots off and hit 4 more threes. Where’d the extra shots come from? Turnovers and rebounds. The Knicks turned the ball over 4 more times than the Heat and that usually wouldn’t be a difference-maker. Compound that with the Heat grabbing more rebounds on both ends of the court and the extra 3’s and all that equals a loss.
Golden State Warriors 101
Los Angeles Lakers 104
The Lakers overcame a 12-point 3rd quarter deficit with some big plays from bench players.
The Warriors played a much more competitive game 4 than game 3 and their shooting % was close to their season average.
The Lakers shot 24% from three but their saving grace came from 2 things. The Lakers were 20 for 20 at the free throw line and had exceptional 4th quarter play from Lonnie Walker, who scored all of his 15 points in the 4th quarter.
Curry finished with 31 points for the Warriors
For the Lakers, LeBron had 27, Anthony Davis had 23, and Austin Reaves had 21

Was This The Blackhawks Plan All Along?
The Chicago Blackhawks have found themselves in the perfect rebuilding position. Chicago parted ways with Captain Jonathan Toews and traded Patrick Kane to the New York Rangers. Kane was drafted by the Blackhawks in 2007 with the overall #1 pick.
The Blackhawks won the NHL draft lottery on Monday night and they will have the 1st overall selection in this year’s draft where it’s certain they will select 17-year-old Connor Bedard who is considered to be a generational talent.
Bedard is from North Vancouver and has been playing for the Regina Pats in the WHL for 3 years.
Andrew Luck Is Still A Colt
The Indianapolis Colts have asked the NFL to review a possible tampering incident by the Washington Commanders. It’s reported that the Commanders were considering Andrew Luck as a QB but figured they wouldn’t pursue him as he’s unlikely to unretire. It doesn’t seem like the Commanders reached out directly to Luck or his agent but if there was some communication with a third party the question is whether or not that would be a rule violation. Luck still has three years left on his contract with the Colts so if he was to come out of retirement, he couldn’t sign with another organization.
That’s all for today. We’ll catch up with you tomorrow.
