LeBron Breaks Scoring Record

Good Morning, we’re almost through the middle of the week and we’ve got an exciting weekend ahead!

What’s up for discussion today:

🏀 LeBron Breaks Scoring Record

⛳️The People’s Open

🏈 Super Bowl

Here we go

Congrats to LeBron

Whether you’re a LeBron James fan or not, last night was a historic moment. LeBron needed 36 points last night to surpass Kareem Abdul-Jabbar’s all time scoring record. LeBron finished with 38. When he broke the record the game was stopped for 10 minutes to handle some ceremonial items. Things like a quick hug with family and friends and Kareem handing off a ceremonial ball to LeBron. Abdul-Jabbar held the record for over 38 years with 38,387 career points. LeBron’s point total will only grow as he plans on playing a few more years.

Here’s a cool pic with Nike Founder, Phil Knight watching the game from the floor seats while sitting next to LeBron’s two sons.

The People’s Open is Here

The PGA Tour’s Waste Management Open has arrived. This is one of the best tourneys all year, being played at TPC Scottsdale’s Stadium Course. It brings a relaxed atmosphere, serious party vibes, and some crazy behaviors. Golf is flipped on it’s head this weekend as fan are cheering, players are asking for more noise and everyone is having a great time. Pull up CBS or the Golf Channel and watch a few holes where the beers flow and if there’s a birdie opportunity, the cheers grow.

The Tournament is Thurs-Sun but Wednesday includes some Pro-Am events with celebrities like Larry Fitzgerald, Emmitt Smith, JJ Watt, Jason Aldean, Chris Lane, Michael Phelps, and others.

Here are some odds for the top six golfers.

Rory McIlroy +800
Jon Rahm +850
Xander Schauffele +1400
Scottie Scheffler +1500
Tony Finau +1800
Collin Morikawa +1800

Who knows, maybe we’ll we have more exciting moments like this over the weekend.

Super Bowl 57

If Phoenix wasn’t busy enough with the Waste Management Open in town, it will be now. The NFL Super Bowl 57 is right down the road in Glendale, making Phoenix the hottest destination this weekend. We’ll cover some more stories, talk about injuries, and our predictions over the next few days.

Did you know? There are two brothers playing against each other in the Super Bowl for the first time ever. They also host a podcast together and I like the way they sum up their feelings about the media covering this story. Check it out.

Have a great Wednesday, we’ll see you tomorrow!
