LeBron Is The First To 40,000 Points
Good Morning! We hope you’re all enjoying your weekend. Let’s catch up on some things you might have missed the last few nights, and then we’ll set you up for a nice little Sunday of sports.
Let’s get this party started.
LeBron James Reaches Record Number
LeBron became the first player in the NBA history to hit the 40,000 point mark. He hit the mark on a second-quarter layup in a 124-114 loss to the Denver Nuggets. James finished with 26 points bring his career total to 40,017 point.
Will this record ever be broken by another player? When it comes to great scorers in the league right, you probably think Steph Curry. Did you know that Steph hasn’t even crossed the 25,000 point mark and he’s 35 years old.
The challenging part of topping LeBron in these records will be staying healthy for as long as he had and have a career that spans across three different decades.
Will LeBron Ever Play With His Son?
We’re not digging into all the details but LeBron James Sr. had claimed in the past that his son could start on an NBA team and Sr. walked that back this week when he posted on twitter asking people to just let his son enjoy college. So the big question is whether Bronny Jr. will enter the NBA draft this year when in all reality, everyone knows he shouldn’t. Bronny isn’t the starter on a not-so-great USC team and averages 5 points per game. Sure, he had a cardiac event early in the season, and he shouldn’t necessarily be punished for that, but if he could ball, he’d be starting.
Bronny Jr.'s latest update has been that he would only enter the draft if he felt there was enough interest from the right teams.
So, we’ll ask the question again… Will LeBron ever play with his son? I think it honestly depends on how long Dad stays in the league.
College Basketball Run Down
You can check out the full scores for the top 25 right here. We’ve got three bullet points for you, and then we’ll move on.
🏀 #12 Baylor hosted #7 Kansas, and Baylor got themselves a Big 12 upset at home. Baylor shot 41% from 3 and had a team game from 4 guys. Ja’Kobe Walter had 11 points, Yves Missi had 17, Jayden Nunn had 18, and RayJ led the way with 19.
🏀 The Houston Cougars were put up as the #1 team in the nation this week, and they almost lost to Oklahoma last night. Thanks to Jamal Shead, Houston can remain in the #1 spot as he hit a jumper with 0.1 seconds to go in the game after recovering a loose ball from the ground.

Sunday Is For Golf… and Tiger Updates
Cognizant (Honda) Classic Final Round
We’ve got a 3-way tie for the lead heading into the final round of the Cognizant Classic at the PGA National Resort in Palm Beach Gardens. Shane Lowry, David Skinns, and Austin Eckroat share the lead at -13 today after Lowry and Skinns both went five under par in round 3 to tie it up with Eckroat.
Skinns and Lowry will be the final pairing to go out today at 1:40 pm ET and Eckroat with tee off at 1:30 pm ET with Jacob Bridgeman, who’s tied for 4th at 10 under.
This could be anyone’s day in the final round. A few holes will have tough pin locations that could ruin anyone’s round. Can Rory make his way up to the top with an epic day, as he sits at -7 right now? Maybe we will see Rickie Fowler make a move after he’s shot two consecutive -4s after shooting par in the opening round.
📺️ You can catch the broadcast on The Golf Channel from 1-3 and then on NBC from 3-6. You can also stream the action all day on ESPN+
Tiger Making Another Return
Tiger tried making a return to golf last month when he played in the Genesis Invitational that he hosts. He had to drop out after not feeling well, and it was later confirmed that he actually had the flu. The question remains if Tiger will play in The PLAYERS Championship in two weeks, but he will be playing the Seminole Pro-Member tomorrow. Tiger will tee it up for the first time at this event where well known pro’s play with business leaders and celebrities at Seminole Country Club. Tiger is playing with Seth Waugh, the CEO of the PGA of America. Justin Thomas will also be in the Woods’ foursome and he’s paired upw ith Mike Walrath, CEO of Yext. Some other guys playing, you might know… Tony Finau, Rory McIlroy, Rob Manfred, and Tom Brady. Other CEOs, bankers, actors, and many more are playing on Monday. The event won’t be televised but hopefully we’ll be able to get some good footage from the Twitter world on Monday.
NHL Rapid Fire
Let’s quickly spit some hockey fire because we don’t want to melt the ice.
🏒 Kyle Palmieri led the New York Islanders with 3 goals yesterday in a nice 5-1 win over the Boston Bruins
🏒 Cody Glass was the 2nd skater of the day to have a hat trick as he scored 3 in a 5-1 Predators win over the Colorado Avalanche.
🏒 The New York Rangers battled it out with the Tornot Maple Leafs in Canada las tnight and the Maple Leafs skated away with a shootout win after a questionable goal by Toronto and a miss off the post in the final shootout.
🏒 There was another shootout with a Canadien team when the Montreal Habs took a trip to Tampa Bay that finished in a shootout. The Lightning would get the W and it took six attempts by both teams to determine a winner.
