A Life of Dedication
The Coach of the Syracuse Orange Men’s Basketball team, Jim Boeheim has retired after 47 years of coaching at the university. Boeheim had a legendary career at Syracuse. He played basketball from 1962-1966, was an assistant coach from 1969-1976 and finally took over as head coach in 1976. He dedicated his entire adult life to the university and helped bring it to its basketball powerhouse status that it is today. He had 5 final four appearances, a 2003 National Championship, and he holds the 2nd most in history by a men’s head coach in Division 1.

World Baseball Classic
You’ve probably been seeing news about the World Baseball Classic and may be wondering what it is. We’ll give you the quick rundown.
The WBC is similar to the Soccer World Cup, showing off the best baseball talent in the world. 20 teams play in total with 5 teams in 4 pools. Each of which are taking place during this week in either Tokyo, Taichung, Phoenix, or Miami. Winners and runner ups from the pools advanced to quarterfinals and play 1 game to keep advancing. Check out all the teams in the classic.

The Players Championship
The Players Championship, one of the biggest golf tournaments of the year, kicks off today. This tournament has the biggest purse of the year at $25 million with the winner receiving $4.5 million. That’s not a bad payday for 4 days of work.
The Players, which is played at TPC Sawgrass is one of golf’s ultimate tests. The layout is a challenging one that doesn’t favor long hitters or the best short games, it’s a layout that requires you to have your very best all around game for 4 straight days. Drive well, hit the irons well, and putt well, and you should have a chance at the big pot on Sunday.
You can catch the action every day on ESPN+. The Golf Channel or CBS will be provided daily afternoon coverage as well.

Durant Injured Again
Want the short story? KD rolled his ankle in warmups and is getting an MRI, you can skip to the next section or keep reading 👍️ .
When Kevin Durant was traded to the Phoenix Suns, the Suns were starting to look like Western Conference favorites. The question wasn’t, “can the Suns be good?” it was more of “can KD stay healthy?” Questioning KD’s durability isn’t some egregious act. KD has missed 55% of games in the last 3 seasons. During this most recent trade, he was recovering from an MCL sprain. After playing the last few games and making serious contributions, KD injured himself during warmups last night when he was going in for a layup and rolled his ankle. He’ll undergo MRI testing and hopefully he’ll be good to get back on the court. We’ll keep you updated

A Mess for Messi
In a UEFA Champions League matchup between PSG and Bayern Munich, Lionel Messi was practically non-existent for PSG. Messi, along with another world best, Kylian Mbappe couldn’t provide a kickstart on the offensive and finished the game goalless. The rest of PSG lacked discipline on the pitch and were completely outplayed by Bayern. Bayern scored goals in the 61st minute and 89th minute to win 2-0.
PSG’s Qatari owners have made massive investments in the team, spending big on superstars and they continuously come up short of their goal to win the Champions League trophy. It’s not all bad as PSG still has to finish their season in France’s Ligue 1 and they are currently first in the standings. I guess there is a touch of bad news as Messi’s contract will expire at the end of the season. We’ll see if Messi extends or possibly makes a retirement stop in the United States with the MLS.
That’s all she wrote. Enjoy the day!
