NFL Draft
There were some major moves in the first round of the NFL draft. We’ll cover a few that we anticipate to have major impacts this year.
The Eagles traded up to the ninth pick and grabbed defensive lineman Jalen Carter from Georgia. Some think he’s the most refined prospect this year and we he’ll have an immediate impact in the NFC East this year for the Eagles. The Eagles have Fletcher Cox and Brandon Graham who are aging so this will be a great time for Carter to learn from some of the best
Jackson Smith-Njigba was drafted the by the Seahawks should fit seamlessly with D.K. Metcalf and Ty Lockett as the third option that they’ve missed over the last few years. He’s one of the best receivers to come out of Ohio State and maybe he’s the addition the Seahawks and Geno Smith need.
One of our personal favorite picks is Dalton Kincaid who got drafted towards the end of the first round with the 25th pick. The Buffalo Bills selected the tight end from Utah and he’s going to be a great addition to the Bills offense who is already lead by Josh Allen and could use some help with a big target in the middle of the field. Look for Kincaid to have an immediate impact this season.
The Deal Of A Lifetime
Kevin Durant just joined the likes of Michael Jordan and LeBron James, becoming the 3rd player ever to sign a lifetime deal with Nike. The financials haven’t been disclosed but LeBron’s deal is estimated to be worth around $1 billion so you’ll have to assume KD’s deal is worth around the same.
This deal is about more than just KD getting paid. It’s about his legacy in the basketball community and his commitment to his community as Nike supports Durant's commitment to philanthropy, including basketball at the grassroots level through his Kevin Durant Charity Foundation.
That’s all for today. Enjoy your Saturday.
