LSU Gives It Right Back To Florida, Wins Title

Happy Tuesday, the Daily Breakroom is like a taco. Today the NHL is the tortilla, Baseball is the meat, and we’ve got the NBA and Soccer as some toppings.

Let’s eat.

College Baseball World Series

Let’s start by saying congratulations to the LSU Tigers for winning their 7th College World Series.

These young men had it going in Omaha last night. the Florida Gators had a quick 2-0 lead after the bottom of the first but it didn’t deter the Tigers. LSU would score 6 runs in the top of the 2nd, while Florida’s starting pitcher was relieved

The Florida offense wasn’t getting anything going and after a scoreless 3rd inning for both teams, it looked like the top of the 4th would go quickly. LSU grounded out and fouled out with their first two batters but would go on to drive 4 runs in during the inning. Florida brought in relief for the 2nd time and now they were on their 3rd pitcher of the game.

Innings 5 and 6 would be scoreless for both teams and it was appearing that the Gator chomp just wouldn’t be strong enough to get back into the game being down 10-2 at this point. LSU would outscore Florida 8-2 in the final three innings to secure the win 18-4.

Let’s go over how crazy this world series was again.

Game 1: LSU wins 4-3 in extra innings with a walk-off home run in the 11th

Game 2: Florida absolutely dominates winning 24-4

Game 3: LSU dominates and gets revenge 18-4.

Can you believe in 3 games there were 57 runs scored? WILD.

MLB

Ohtani Helps Angels Win

The Angels defeated the White Sox 2-1 yesterday with help from Shohei Ohtani. Ohtani crushed a 446-foot home run and that was his league-leading 26th of the year.

The endnding was a bit different in this one. Mike Trout scored on a wild pitch in the bottom of the 9th. Check it out.

Reds Officially On A Losing Streak

The Cincinnati Reds were on a 12-game win streak and they were looking unbeatable for a bit. They dropped the last 2 games of their series against Atlanta and lost 10-3 last night against the Orioles. The Reds and O’s face off again tonight, let’s see if Cincinnati can put an end to the losing streak.

Getting Ready For Draft Night

The Chicago Blackhawks offloaded some key players this year in preparation for a fast rebuild.

The Blackhawks have the No 1 pick and are expected to take Connor Bedard. Chicago just traded for former MVP Taylor Hall and the rights to unrestricted free agent Nick Foligno from the Bruins. Boston gets defensemen, Ian Mitchell and Alec Regula.

With the Hall trade, Chicago is trying to pair Bedard with a top winger and have a very strong forward line.

Soccer News

Harry Kane Is Not Available

We repeat he is not available.

Bayern Munich submitted a $70 million off to the Tottenham Hotspurs to transfer the Spurs’ captain this summer. Tottenham said that he is not available even though Kane’s contract will be expiring at the end of the year.

Manchester United is also interested in Kane but there have no official transfer offers.

Kane will be allowed to start speaking with teams in January 2024.

Man City Offer Rejected

Manchester City placed a bid to West Ham for a Declan Rice transfer. It was a $102 million bid and it was rejected by West Ham. West Ham is willing to negotiate but the bid needs to come up considerably.

Toronto FC Fires Former USMNT Coach

Toronto FC fired Bob Bradley yesterday after he and his staff have managed only 3 wins in 20 games with the club. Bradley was USMNT's coach from 2006 to 2011 and guided the team to the knockout round in the 2010 World Cup.

NBA

Damian Lillard Update

Damian Lillard hasn’t requested a trade from the Portland Trailblazers but he did meet with Blazers’ front office. He wanted the front office to get some veterans to help him this upcoming season in an effort to avoid a full rebuild. The team hasn’t signed any vets yet, but Lillard is apparently being patient with the organization and hoping they will make some free-agency moves soon.

It might just be us, but we’d like to see him in Miami and think that would be unbelievably fun to watch him and Jimmy Butler together.

Is anything on TV tonight?

Other than Tuesday night baseball, there are two Concacaf Gold Cup matches on:

Canada vs. Guadeloupe at 7:00 pm ET on FS1

Guatemala vs Cuba at 8:45 pm ET on FS1

Enjoy your Tuesday.
