Has The Madness Already Begun?

Happy Sunday. We’re the Daily Breakroom, here to bring you the madness before March even begins.

Here’s what we go today:

🏀 NCAA Men’s Scores

🏈 Bezos Denied

⚽️ Crossing the Pond

Here we go

NCAA Men’s Basketball

We may be a few weeks away from the NCAA Tournament but the madness has arrived early.

There were 18 matchups on Saturday that included top 25 ranked teams. 8 of them resulted in “upsets”.

Two of top 25 matchups finished with buzzer beaters and there was another wild finish outside of the top ranked teams.

In a Pac-12 matchup, Arizona State shocked #7 Arizona with a 60-ft buzzer beater.

In the ACC, Florida State upset #13 Miami with a last second 3 pointer after coming back from a 25 point 2nd half deficit.

Outside of the Top 25, there was a crazy Big 10 finish. Iowa took Michigan State into overtime after being down 13 with only 94 seconds to go in the 2nd half. The Iowa Hawkeyes defeated Michigan State 112-106.

Bezos Denied

I guess being one of the world’s richest people doesn’t automatically get you a professional sports team. The other day we mentioned Jeff Bezos was exploring bid options for the NFL’s Washington Commanders. Apparently Bezos has been denied that opportunity as the teams current owners can choose to sell to whomever they wish, or at the very least, choose to not sell. I’m sure Jeff Bezos buying the Washington Post and then that said newspaper writing stories about a culture of sexual harassment within the Commanders organization wouldn’t didn’t help. We’ll keep you updated on the “Bezos trying his hand in pro sports” talk and on future buyers for the NFL team.

Friendly Action Crossing the Pond

Wrexham, a Welsh Football Club owned by Hollywood stars Ryan Reynolds and Rob McElhenney is expected to travel to the US this summer and play friendlies against Manchester United and Chelsea. It is expected that Wrexham will face Chelsea in July in Chapel Hill, NC. A week later, Wrexham would face Man Utd in San Diego. There may be an additional match added in Las Vegas.

Chelsea and Man Utd. will be playing other friendlies as part of a 2023 US tour.

That’s all for today. Thanks for reading and remember…..

Don’t let Mondays ruin your Sundays!

Cheers
