Masters Sunday

and Tiger Woods did what?

Today’s Estimated Reading Time: 2 minutes and 49 seconds

Happy Sunday and Happy Easter(if you’re into that sort of thing). This is the Daily Breakroom and we’re here for your sports updates, even on a Masters Sunday.

Here’s what we got today:

  • Masters Sunday

  • Cracking into the NBA Playoffs

  • NHL Accomplishments

Here we go.

⛳️ Masters Sunday ⛳️

Round 2 was postponed on Friday and was completed Saturday morning. Round 3 was starting later in the morning on Saturday and was also postponed. Enter Sunday at the Masters and we’re getting treated with lots of golf.

The rain is gone in Augusta but the cold temps remain as golfers take to the course at 8:30am to finish round 3. Temps are sitting around 44o F this morning and will possibly climb to the lows 60s by mid afternoon.

Brooks Koepka still has the lead at -13 through 6 holes in the 3rd. John Rahm is following close behind at -9 through 6 as well.

More than 2 inches of rain fell on Augusta National the past two days. The greens shouldn’t play too slow as the course invested half a million dollars in SubAir greens systems that ventilate and control the moisture on and under the greens.

The leaders have about 30 holes left before someone is named champion.

We have lots of exciting golf to watch and unfortunately Tiger Woods won’t be a part of it. Tiger withdrew from the tournament this morning as he reaggravated his plantar fasciitis during Saturday’s play. He woke up early trying to find some relief but ultimate had to make the call to not play. Hopefully we get to see him in better health at the rest of the majors.

If you’re looking to watch the Masters today here’s the schedule and how you can watch.

  • Remainder of 3rd round will be on CBS at 8:30am

  • Final round is expected to tee of at 12:30pm

  • CBS will return for final round coverage at 2:00pm

  • Stream all the action on ESPN+, Masters.com, or The Masters App

🏀 Cracking Into The Playoffs 🏀

This Sunday is looking like more a Wester egg hunt in the NBA.

Four games will decide the remaining Western Conference playoff and play-in seedings, and all of them will go down on Sunday at 3:30 p.m. ET. Currently the Golden State Warriors and LA Clippers are in the playoffs and can stay out of the play-in with wins. The LA Lakers and New Orleans Pelicans are trying to “crack” their way into the playoffs.

Here are today’s matchups:

  • New Orleans Pelicans at Minnesota Timberwolves

  • Utah Jazz at Los Angeles Lakers

  • Los Angeles Clippers at Phoenix Suns

  • Golden State Warriors at Portland Trail Blazers

This tweet creates a nice visual on what the scenarios are.

🏒 NHL Accomplishments 🏒

We’ve got two big accomplishments in the NHL.

  1. Edmonton Oilers star Connor McDavid became the first player in 27 years to reach 150 points in a season when he had a goal and an assist in a 6-1 win over the San Jose Sharks on Saturday.

  2. The Boston Bruins were already the fastest team to ever get 100 points in a season. They tied the NHL record for wins in a season with a 2-1 win over the NJ Devils. The Bruins have 3 games remaining so we’ll see if they break the record.

Have a great Masters Sunday

and remember…..

Don’t let your Mondays ruin your Sundays!
