Messi’s Milestone
Lionel Messi might be one of the best to ever play the game of soccer. On Sunday, Messi scored his 700th career goal at the club level. He was assisted by teammate Kylian Mbappe. Mbappe was just returning the favor as Messi assisted Mbappe on two goals earlier in match. If you watched the World Cup, you’ll remember Messi and Mbappe were actually opponents in the final when Argentina beat France. They make some good teammates, playing for Paris Saint-Germain.
If you’re wondering how Messi compares to Cristiano Ronaldo.. check out the tweet below.

Performance of the Day
Damian Lillard went off on Sunday in a Portland Trailblazers 131-114 win over the Houston Rockets. Lillard had 71 points, 5 rebounds, and 5 assists. He cashed in on 13 3-pointers, many from WAY beyond the arc. He’s the 8th player to ever score more than 70 in a NBA game. Check out some highlights below.

Action in the West
Lillard may have blazed a trail in Portland but there was no shortage of action in the Western Conference last night.
In a matchup between two top teams, the 1st place Denver Nuggets took on the 5th place LA Clippers. It was a close matchup that went to overtime and the Nuggets eventually came out on top 134-124. Nuggets center, Nikola Jokic, recorded his 23rd triple double of the season. Jokic had 40pts, 17 rebounds, and 10 assists. Jokic was even getting some steals in the win.
Overtime wasn’t the craziest thing to happen in the West. The Los Angeles Lakers overcame a 27 point deficit in a matchup in Dallas versus the Mavericks. There were 13 fourth-quarter lead changes. Anthony Davis had 30 points and 15 rebounds and LeBron James had 26 points for the Lakers. Luka Doncic put up 26 points for the Mavericks. The Lakers are doing their best to close out the season strong and not leave their playoff chances to fate.
Bucks Keep Streak Alive
Even with Giannis Antetokounmpo injured, the Milwaukee Bucks aren’t slowing down. The Bucks recorded their 14th consecutive win on Sunday, defeating the Phoenix Suns 104-101. Jrue Holiday had 33 points for Milwaukee. The Bucks currently sit one game behind the first place Boston Celtics in the East.
That’s all for today. Have a great start to the week!
