A Millimeter Makes The Difference

Today's Estimated Reading Time: 2 Minutes and 1 Second

Good Morning. We’re keeping it short and sweet as we do on the weekends. Grab that mimosa and let’s get down to business.

The USWNT Is Sent Home Packing

The USWNT faced Sweden in the round of 16 and the US will be packing their bags and heading home after a devastating loss. The US has not played well in any of their group matches but this round of 16 matchup was by far their best performance. The US played a strong team game today but all of their scoring chances were denied by Sweden’s goalkeeper, Zecira Musovic.

The game would go down to penalty kicks and the US would lose by a millimeter when US goalkeeper Alyssa Naeher deflected a PK and the ball flew up in the air and narrowly crossed the line to be called a goal. Watch it below.

This is the United States’ earliest exit in World Cup history.

Jose Ramirez Knocks Tim Anderson’s Sox Off

We’re not really sure why it happened, but Tim Anderson started a brawl yesterday and Jose Ramirez ended it.

Jose Ramirez, who plays for the Cleveland Guardians hit a double yesterday and while he was sliding into second base, he slid through the legs of Tim Anderson in a similar fashion that Anderson slid through someone’s legs a few weeks ago. It appeared that Ramirez was upset by the way Anderson tried to tag him but also Anderson seemed upset by the slide. The two exchanged words and the rest was history.

The question isn’t will they be suspended? The question is how many games will they be suspended for?

Check it out.
