We're Not Trying To Exploit College Kids
But man, it would be great if everyone played in the bowl games.
We’ve seen it all bowl season, and I’m not blaming dudes for sitting out as they get ready to take the next step in their careers. It just stinks to watch the games and not really see each team at their fullest potential. For example, everyone some people feel like Florida State got shafted from the playoffs this year, and instead of having a full squad to face Georgia in what could’ve been an epic showdown tonight, Georgia is likely going to beat FSU 34-0, and we will never hear the end of it. Do we really want to listen to Georgia fans bark for the next eight months? 🙃
Whatever, I’ll still miss all of this in February and each month after until we get to September again.
It’s still all football for the next few days, so let’s get into it.
Rapid Fire Friday
Let’s quickly run through the scores from last night’s games.
Gator Bowl: #22 Clemson scored 28 points in the 4th quarter to beat Kentucky 38-35. It came down to the final minute in the game, where Clemson had to score to win.

Sun Bowl: #16 Notre Dame stomped all over #19 Oregon State, and it was Notre Dame’s largest margin of victory in a bowl game ever. Notre Dame won the matchup 40-8, and while the ND offense rolled, the defense held Oregon State to 195 passing yards and just two rushing yards.
Cotton Bowl: #9 Mizzou upset #7 Ohio State in a low-scoring game. Mizzou scored two touchdowns after trailing for most of the game, 3-0, to defeat the Buckeyes 14-3. Ohio State was down to QB3 last night after QB1 Kyle McCord transferred to Syracuse, and their QB2 left the game with a sprained ankle.
Liberty Bowl: Memphis beat Iowa State 36-26in a matchup where Iowa State had every single one of their total yards come from passing. Well, yes, but also, no. Iowa State’s RB had 12 carries for 4 yards, and their QB had eight carries for -4 yards. Iowa State would finish with 446 passing yards. Memphis collected 530 yards in total, with 166 yards on the ground and 364 in the air.

Saturday In The NFL
The college season is winding down, and the NFL wants to make sure people continue to keep their eyes on football. We’ve got one Saturday night matchup between the Detroit Lions and the Dallas Cowboys.
📺️ Gametime is 8:15 pm ET, and the game will be broadcast on ABC or ESPN, depending on your location.
💰️ Dallas has been dominant at home, and Vegas doesn’t see that stopping. The Cowboys are favored by 5.5 points, and the O/U is 51.5.
👀 The Cowboys are looking to bounce back tonight after suffering back-to-back losses for the first time since the 2021 regular season. The Lions will be trying to remain focused after winning their first division title since 1993. Both teams are in the playoffs already, but this could impact seeding.
👉️ Dallas is coming off two tough losses to a good Bills and Dolphins teams. The Lions just snuck by the Vikings, who are on their 3rd string QB. Anytime the Lions' defense faces an above-average quarterback, points are put up on the board. The Cowboys have been able to score at home, so while I’m not so sure the spread or the points total is the play, the Cowboys scoring at least 30 points is the way to go.
That’s all for today.
Get yourself some breakfast, stock the fridge with some ice-cold brewskis, and get ready for some more football. We’ll catch up with you tomorrow to talk some NFL Sunday and get a better look at the playoff picture.
