Good Morning and Happy Friday! We’ve made it to the 4th of July weekend so let’s get you some updates and then get you out of the office.

Here’s what we got today:

The Shohei Show

Shohei Ohtani hit his 29th home of the season last night in an Angels loss to the White Sox. He crushed a 438-foot home run and it was also his 14th homer this month. This broke the Angel’s franchise record for most home runs in a month.

Who did the record belong to before? Shohei Ohtani! Yup… he’s just out here breaking his own record and he’s throwing K’s at the same time.

NBA Free Agency

We’ve got some big news in the NBA free agency.

  • James Harden exercised his player option and will be spending another year in Philadelphia with the 76ers and he will make $35.6 million. Well….sort of…. Harden’s plan is to actually look for a trade during the year as the team didn’t want to consider a long-term deal with him

  • The Sacramento Kings have resigned Harrison Barnes to a three-year extension worth $54 million. Barnes averaged 15 points, 4.5 rebounds, and 1.6 assists last season and he played in all 82 regular season games.

  • This one shouldn’t be a surprise but Kyrie Irving is planning to meet with the Phoenix Suns when free agency officially opens tonight at 6 pm ET. Dallas is still believed to be the favorite to resign Kyrie, but it sounds like he may try to rejoin KD in an effort to chase another ring. We have a feeling this is going to be a hilarious free agency for Kyrie, because nothing is normal with him anymore.

LIV Golf

LIV Golf has a 54-hole event at Valderrama Golf Club in Southern Spain. It’s a par 71 that stretches almost 7000 yards. Check out the action on the CW app or live stream it here. You can also watch rounds 2 and 3 over the weekend on the CW channel.

Incognito Kyle

The Chicago Blackhawks GM, Kyle Davidson was randomly interviewed in Nashville and asked some hockey questions. The interviewer did not know he was the GM so just ran a normal interview. Check it out.
