One helluva weekend

In partnership with

Happy Monday! We’ve got a big weekend scoreboard to cover, including some huge wins on the hardwood and the ice. There was a big F up on 18 on the PGA Tour and we also had some big races that are worth covering.

Let’s get right into it.

p.s. help us out again by clicking the ad so we can continue pumping out these stories every day! Thanks x’s a million!

p.p.s might as well stock up on these gummies if you’re a Boston fan because heartbreak is coming. You know the B’s or C’s ain’t winning a title 😉

These cannabis gummies keep selling out in 2023

If you've ever struggled to enjoy cannabis due to the harshness of smoking or vaping, you're not alone. That’s why these new cannabis gummies caught our eye.

Mood is an online dispensary that has invented a “joint within a gummy” that’s extremely potent yet federally-legal. Their gummies are formulated to tap into the human body’s endocannabinoid system.

Although this system was discovered in the 1990’s, farmers and scientists at Mood were among the first to figure out how to tap into it with cannabis gummies. Just 1 of their rapid onset THC gummies can get you feeling right within 5 minutes!

Headlines

🏀 The Mavs beat the Clippers in game 6 of their first-round playoff series and it wasn’t pretty. The final score was 114-101, but it wasn’t that close at all. Luka Doncic had 28 points and Kyrie Irving was a highlight reel the entire game and dropped 30. Next up is OKC!

🏀 It took us a few games in the Cavs/Magic series to have home-court advantage not be a serious thing, but we made it to game 7. The Cavaliers advanced to the second round for the first time in 6 years after beating the Magic 106-94. Donovan Mitchell had an awesome game. He started with 2-11 shooting and then finished with 39 points. Cleveland will face Boston in the second round.

🏒The Vancouver Canucks beat the Nashville Predators 1-0 in game 6 of the first round of playoffs, and the Canucks are moving on after winning the series 4-2. This was a super late goal with 1:39 seconds left on the clock in the final period. THAT’S HEARTBREAK!

🏒 The Boston Bruins and Toronto Maple Leafs had an epic game 7 on Saturday night. The Maple Leafs can’t get by the Bruins in the playoffs, and it looks like it might happen this time. After both teams went scoreless for the first 2.5 periods, the Leafs’ Willy Nylander put a goal in the net with 11 minutes to go in the 3rd period. BREATHING ROOM for Toronto. JUST KIDDING. The B’s scored 81 seconds later, and then David Pastrnak scored a game-winner for Boston in OT.

🏒 The Dallas Stars defeated the Vegas Golden Knights 2-1 in game 7 of the first round. This was a great series, with both teams stealing two roads each in the first four games. Then, Dallas figured out how to win at home again.

🏇It was a photo finish at the Kentucky Derby where Mystic Dan(20-1) won by just a little over a nostril over Sierra Leone(2nd) and Forever Young(3rd). The $5 million purse is the richest in Derby History, and it was quite fitting for the 150th showing of the race. This was the first 3 horse photo finish since 1947. I wonder what camera they used back then.

🏎️ Formula 1 was in Miami this weekend, and it was a race that you’d expect Max Verstappen to win. He finished 2nd after Lando Norris dusted him by 7 seconds in the McLaren car. There was a little drama with a safety car, and even though Verstappen happily congratulated Norris on his win, when Verstappen asked if things would be different without the safety car, he responded by saying, “If my mom had balls, she’d be my dad.”

⛳️ You hate to see someone fall apart on the 72nd hole of a golf tournament unless you’re Taylor Pendrith and about to make a boatload of cash. Ben Kholes had a 1-stroke lead over Pendrith, and both teed it up on the final hole of the Byron Nelson Cup in Dallas. Kholes had a rough chip on 18 that led him to be the only player to bogey the hole all day after he missed a 5-foot putt for par. Pendrith would then birdie the hole for a 2-stroke swing, and Pendrith would take home the trophy + an extra $600k.

Other Scores

NHL Playoffs
Rangers vs Hurricanes, Round 2, Game 1

🏒 The Rangers got a big game 1 win against the Hurricanes in what will likely be a great series between the two teams. Mika Zibanejad scored 2 goals to help the Rangers win 4-3.

NBA Playoffs
Minnesota vs Denver, Round 2, Game 1

It’s always weird to have second-round games on a Saturday when the other first-round series are finishing up the day after. Whatever, I don’t envy the guys who have to create the schedule.

🏀 The Nuggets showed us they are more fallible than we thought after Minnesota played a physical game against the defending champs. Anthony Edwards had a superstar performance, scoring 43 points, and Na Reid had 14 points in the fourth quarter that were pretty clutch. T-Wolves took game 1, 106-99.

Is this real?

Circling back on F1 in Miami…. Are these really the food prices? I found some drinks menus, and it looked like a bucket of high noons was $60, but steamed buns were $300. I’m confused… are they steaming my buns and massaging them, or am I just a peasant?

That’s all for today…. lots of headlines, but one helluva a weekend..

Have a great start to the week!
