Howdy! This is the Daily Breakroom and we’re here to talk playoffs… for the rest of eternity. With pucks dropping last night for the Stanley Cup Playoffs and the NBA Playoffs carrying on, we’ll be in playoff season until the middle of June.

Here’s what we got for you today:

🏒 NHL Playoffs

🏀 NBA Playoffs

🏈 Jalen Hurts Flying High

But first….. The Boston Marathon.

Boston Marathon Results

Two time Olympic gold medalist, Eliud Kipchoge, who is considered by many as the greatest marathoner off all time ran his first Boston Marathon of his career yesterday. Kipchoge, who is from Kenya, wasn’t expecting to break any records but he did expect himself to win. The wet and windy conditions got the best of Kipchoge. He not only didn’t win, he also didn’t have a place on the podium. Kipchoge finished 6th, but it wasn’t all bad for the Kenyans as they finished 1st and 3rd in the men’s and 1st in the women’s.

In the men’s race, Evans Chebet repeated as winner at the Boston Marathon with a race time of 2:05:54.

Don’t worry, we obviously did the math for you.. and wow.. this dude ran a marathon at a 4:48 mile pace. I’m getting a cramp just thinking about it.

What’s crazier is that the 2nd place finish was 10 seconds behind Chebet and the 3rd place came in just 2 seconds after that.

The women’s race was impressive as well. Hellen Obiri came in first with a time of 2:21:38 and Amane Beriso placed in 2nd crossing the finish line 15 seconds after Obiri.

Obiri’s mile pace was 5:24. I need a banana(for the potassium) just thinking about how B A N A N A S these paces are.

Congrats to all the competitors and thanks to everyone who raised money for all the great charities.

Hurts Flying High

The Philadelphia Eagles and QB Jalen Hurts have agreed to a contract extension worth $255 million. With this contract Hurts becomes the highest paid player in NFL history make $51 million a year. It’s not fully guaranteed like the $230 mil that Deshaun Watson received, but it’s pretty close with $180 mil in guarantees.

Hopefully this doesn’t impact the cap too much for the Eagles as they try to make another Super Bowl appearance. It might not be too much cause for concern as Eagles WR AJ Brown is pretty pumped that his buddy just got the massive deal.

That’s all for today. Have a great Tuesday
