Postgame showers are about to be extra weird
Happy Friday! Not a ton has happened in the last few days, but we still think we’ve got some good good going on in the sports world that’s worth sharing.
So what’s on the agenda?
🏀 NBA + First Father-Son Duo
⚽️ USMNT loses in group stage
🏈 The NFL gets got
🏒 NHL Awards are out
⛳️ Some golf was played
This shouldn’t really be spilling the beans, but the father-son duo in the NBA is obviously LeBron and Bronny. Not to kill your vibes, but those post-game showers might get a little weird!
We’re just kidding about killing the vibes, but if you need to bring the good vibes back, try clicking on the ad below and consider buying gummies. Don’t feel bad if you don’t buy anything, you help us out by just clicking the ad! We appreciate y’all!
This cannabis startup pioneered “rapid onset” gummies
Most people prefer to smoke cannabis but that isn’t an option if you’re at work or in public.
That’s why we were so excited when we found out about Mood’s new Rapid Onset THC Gummies. They can take effect in as little as 5 minutes without the need for a lighter, lingering smells or any coughing.
Nobody will ever know you’re enjoying some THC.
We recommend you try them out because they offer a 100% money-back guarantee. And for a limited time, you can receive 20% off with code FIRST20.
NBA Draft
The NBA draft tipped off Wednesday night, and the Atlanta Hawks had the first pick. They selected Zaccharie Risacher from France. It’s the first time we’ve ever had two Frenchmen get drafted #1 overall in back-to-back drafts.
You can find the complete draft right here. Here are some exciting things that came out of this year’s draft.
France had three draft picks in the top 10. The Wizards selected Riscaher first, the Hornets selected Alex Sarr second, and the Hornets selected Tidjane Salaun sixth.
UConn had 2 top 10 picks, with Stephon Castle going to the Spurs and Donovan Clingan going to the Trailblazers.
Kentucky also had 2 top-10 picks, with Reed Sheppard going to the Rockets and Rob Dillingham going to the Timberwolves after they traded for the pick.
The Lakers snagged Dalton Knecht with their 17th pick when it was expected that Knecht would go in the top 10. Knecht was an All-American and the 2023-24 SEC Player of the Year who never got any D1 offers during high school. He had to go the JuCo route, then Northern Colorado, then Tennessee. It’s pretty cool to go down that path to eventually get drafted by the Lakers.
👉️ The other major story from the draft is that the Lakers drafted LeBron James’ son Bronny with the 55th pick. Many people thought he would go sooner as a play to interest LeBron into leaving LA at some point. Still, he ultimately fell far enough that the Lakers could get the young athletic baller who might have the best comeback story of the last year after he suffered cardiac arrest at practice in the fall. Will Bronny be good? It seems hard to believe based on his size, but all signs say he can improve and that he’s willing to put in the work
LeBron and Bronny are the first-ever Father-Son duo to play in the NBA at the same time.
USMNT Suffers A Tough Loss
Tim Weah threw a punch at a Panama player during last night’s Copa America Group Stage matchup and received a red card. The US suffered a 2-1 loss after having to play a man down for a large portion of the game. The US had a 1-0 lead but couldn’t respond to Panama after Panama scored 2 unanswered goals.

The US will need to beat a talented Uruguay team on Monday if it wants to advance to the quarterfinals. The men’s team somehow always keeps us on our toes.
Worse Than A Concussion
The NFL is left banging its head against a wall after it lost a massive antitrust lawsuit that will require it to pay a penalty worth at least $4.6 billion.
Here’s what happened. There was a massive lawsuit against the NFL because the NFL would blackout certain games in certain regions and the only way to watch some games was to buy Sunday Ticket. The only problem is that you had to buy every game and couldn’t just purchase the one you wanted. The other issue was the NFL forced you to use a satellite TV provider because the NFL made a deal with DirecTV. Kind of monopolistic and kind of BS, right?
Well, someone brought it to court, a jury found the NFL liable, and the NFL plans to appeal this.
Good for you if you were one of the 2 million people about to get paid!
NHL Awards
With the Stanley Cup Finals over, the NHL has moved on to their season-long awards. Here’s who won some hardware

Rocket Mortgage Classic
The PGA Tour’s Rocket Mortgage Classic is back in Detroit at the Detroit Golf Club. Sure, Rickie Fowler fired a six under round to finish the first day tied 4th as he looks to defend his win from last year, but that’s not the big story.
The big story isn’t even Akshay Bhatia coming in at -8!
The big story is all about a 15-year-old making his PGA Tour debut. That’s right.
Miles Russell, a 15-year-old from Jacksonville Beach, became the ninth youngest player to tee it up on the PGA Tour yesterday. He started his round off with a 305-yard drive. Do you think that’s crazy? Listen to some of these stats.
🏌️ HE BROKE PAR WHEN HE WAS SIX YEARS OLD!
🏌️ He finished second at the drive, chip, and putt at Augusta when he was just 9.
🏌️He played from the tips before he was a teenager
🏌️He made his high school golf team as a sixth grader!
🏌️He’s 5 foot 7, 135 pounds. INSANE.
🏌️ He is the youngest winner of the Junior PGA Championship and the Junior PLAYERS.
🏌️ He was the no. 1 ranked junior golfer in the world before becoming an upperclassman in high school. This is all crazy.

they at least made an exception so he could use the locker room
And today he shot 2 over par to finish with a 74. He’s 15 and he’s not in last.
We’re definitely not going to be thinking about how much we suck at golf. Nope. We’ll just watch and be amazed. You should too!
Tune in and enjoy the show. You can watch today’s round on ESPN+ and then on the Golf Channel in the afternoon. The weekend rounds will be on ESPN+, the Golf Channel, and CBS.
That’s all for today. Enjoy your weekend and remember. The 4th of July is right around the corner. Hang in there for a few more days and then it’s anothe rholiday weekend.
Cheers!
