Rickie Remains At The Top
Today’s Estimated Reading time: 2 minutes and 16 seconds
Good Morning and Happy Saturday.
You know we want you having yourself a weekend, so let’s spend less time reading and more time having fun. Grab your coffee and let’s run this down the middle.
US Open
Rickie Fowler remains the leader at the US Open after 36 holes. He had a less-than-perfect day on Friday but Fowler still shot a 68 to bring his total to 10 under par and that’s good enough for now. He’s followed closely by Wyndham Clark, Rory, and Xander Schauffele who are currently sitting a -9, -8, and -8, respectively.
You might be thinking wasn’t Dustin Johnson close to the lead? Heck yea he was. But he pulled a move that we’ve all pulled on the course…on the 2nd hole he scored a quadruple bogey aka a ⛄️. He still finished the day at even par and is sitting at 6 under which is good enough for 6th on the leaderboard. If DJ could’ve had a par, he’d be tied for the lead currently. Golf is a funny hard funny game.
Tee times start late for the east coasters, check them out here. Don’t want to take the extra step to click the link? That’s okay, just tune in to NBC around 6 pm ET and you’re gonna have some great golf to watch.
The GOAT Makes A Few Easy Billion
Michael Jordan is in the works to sell his majority stake in the Charlotte Hornets for around $3 billion. MJ bought the franchise in 2010 for $275 million. We’re not going to do public math, but all we know is that’s one helluva return. I guess Michael is a better businessman than he is a GM.
Adam Silver Lays Down The Law
On the topic of star players, Adam Silver has dropped the punishment for Ja Morant after he showed a gun on social media a 2nd time. Morant will be suspended for 25 games in the next season. There will likely be an appeal so we’ll keep you updated.
A Baseball Rivalry
The New York Yankees traveled to Boston to face the Red Sox on Friday night and it was a battle for the ages.
JUST KIDDING.
The Red Sox smoked the Yanks 15-5 after having a 13-1 lead after 4 innings. It was an absolutely abysmal showing from New York and one they hope to redeem tonight at 7:15 pm ET.
What To Watch Today
MLB: Yanks at Red Sox, 7:15 pm ET on FOX
College Baseball: Stanford vs Wake Forest, 2:00 pm ET on ESPN
College Baseball: Tennessee vs LSU, 7:00 pm ET on ESPN
PLL: Archers vs Chaos, Noon ET on ESPN
That’s all for today. Enjoy your Saturday!
