🎰 Does the NFL Have A Gambling Problem
Riddle me this. HOW DO YOU LOSE YOUR JOB IN THE NFL BECAUSE YOU GAMBLE ON FOOTBALL???
Calvin Ridley was suspended for the entirety of the 2022 NFL season when it was found that he was gambling on the NFL in 2021 when he was away from the Atlanta Falcons for a few weeks on a mental health break. He even bet on his team and at least it was for the Falcons to win, which they rarely were doing during 2021. Even though Ridley claims he only bet $1500 and doesn’t have a gambling problem, he was still suspended for a year. But, at least he learned his lesson.

Well, Ridley might have learned his lesson, but apparently others did not. And isn’t there a famous Churchill quote about something like this?
“Those that fail to learn from history are doomed to repeat it”
5 NFL players did just that.
Four Detroit Lions players and a Washington Commander have been suspended for violating the NFL’s gambling policy.
Detroit’s WR Jameson William was suspended 6 games along with WR Stanley Berryhill for gambling on college football games while in an NFL facility, which is prohibited.
Lions WR Quintez Cephus and DB C.J. Moore were suspended indefinitely along with Commanders’ DE Shake Toney as they were betting on NFL games.
The Lions finally got something rolling in 2022 and this could be the thing that sets them back. SMH.
