Santa Claus Makes An Early Stop In Los Angeles

Happy Friday!

Santa made an early stop in LA, and apparently, all the Angelenos have been very, very good this year. We’ll explain why it appears they avoided the naughty list and more!

Let’s Go, Go, Go!

Santa Visit Los Angeles Early

Rams Playoffs Hope Stay Alive

The LA Rams staved off a comeback by the New Orleans Saints and found themselves edging closer to securing a playoff spot.

After a slow start with both teams, the Rams found themselves up with a 10-0 lead. The Saints would score towards the end of the half, and the Rams would have just enough time to cash in a 2 minutes drill.

LA would start with the ball in the 2nd half and would drive the field in 4 minutes but would have to settle for a field goal. The Rams were up 20-7 and would then get an interception, and Kyren Williams would cap off a 5-play drive with a score. Rams are up 27-7.

New Orleans would make a push in the fourth quarter, scoring two touchdowns, but it was too late.

Matthew Stafford finished the day 24 of 34 for 325 yards and 2 TDs. Kryen Williams ran for 104 yards and 1 TD on 22 carries. Puka Nacua led the receiver core with nine receptions for 164 yards and 1 TD.

While the Saints got their passing game going late in the game, the rushing game was nonexistent for 60 minutes. The Saints ran the ball 16 times for only 35 yards.

The Saints aren’t fully out of the playoff picture yet, but this win is helping the Rams big time. The Rams play the Giants next week, and if they win that, they should lock up a wild card spot before facing the 49ers in the season finale.

Santa Makes The Trip From Japan

The Los Angeles Dodgers have signed Japanese star Yashinobu Yamamoto to a 12-year $325 million agreement.

The deal for the 25-year-old comes after a wild 48 hours where the Mets offered a similar amount of money and the Yankees offered a bid that was closer to $300 million.

Yamamoto is coming to the States after winning three consecutive MVPs in the Japanese Nippon League. He may be a little short in stature as he’s 5’10” and 176 pounds, but teams don’t seem too concerned as Yamamoto apparently has a “unique training method”.

If Yamamoto really has the sauce that everyone thinks, this is surely a great signing by the Dodgers and will bolster the roster for deep playoff runs for years to come.

Pistons Lose 25th Straight

The Detroit Pistons have fallen to 2-26 this season, and we’re blessed with the roars of their fans who screamed, “Sell the team! Sell the Team! I guess things could be worse for the Pistons owners. At least the arena was 90% full when they were screaming their chant. The Pistons lost to the Utah Jazz 119-111 after the Jazz scored 50 points off turnovers and rebounds.

Cade Cunningham of Detroit claimed, “We’re not 2-26 bad.” Even if they’re not as bad as their record shows, the Pistons are one loss away from tying the consecutive loss record.

OKC Snaps LAC Win Streak

Shai Gilgeous-Alexander scored 31 points last night in a Thunder 134-115 win over the LA Clippers. The Clippers had won 9 in a row before the loss. Oklahoma City was trailing in the game in the 3rd before Chet Holmgren sparked the squad to a 13-0 scoring run with an alley-oop to himself.

Florida State Starts Process To Leave ACC

Florida States is planning to begin the process of exiting the ACC. June 2025 would be the expected exit date. The ACC requires a one-year notice of departure. The SEC and Big 10 are expected to have the biggest interest in getting FSU to join their conference. FSU wants to leave due to a lack of revenue distribution from the conference and the fact that FSU feels like the only reason the revenue is so high is because FSU is disproportionately watched by more fans. The exit could cost FSU more than $360 million. If they join one of the other conferences, will that $360 mil be made up? It’s getting hard to believe that these conferences will have enough to share with the Big10 and SEC continuing to expand, but I guess with more expansion comes more money.
