The Secret Service Could Protect Aaron Rodgers Better!
Let’s set the scene. It’s January 2025, and Aaron Rodgers is giving a press conference after being named MVP.
We’re not talking about Most Valuable Player…. we’re talking Mr. Vice President!
What a helluva way to wake up on a Wednesday.
Let’s unstitch this story, look at free agency, and check out some scores.
Let’s go.
No, This Isn’t a Hallucination
Unless you did psychadelics or ayuahasca last night, you ain’t tripping. Robert F. Kennedy is getting ready for his independent run as a presidential candidate for 2024 and he needs a running mate. We don’t care much for politics and football is our religion, so if you hate Trump or think Biden has been replaced by an actor, or you have only seen RFK on a Rogan podcast, WE DON’T CARE!
Back to the point. RFK has said he’s looking for a running mate and has reached out to Aaron Rodgers, who said he’s open to the idea. Rodgers shares similar values and ideas with RFK(based on what I read), but he also has two years left on his contract with the New York Jets. If RFK did win the election and Rodgers was his running mate, does A-Rod still play for two years? Could he split time between the gridiron and The Ceremonial Office? Does Air Force One become the team jet?
And just like the headline suggests… could the Secret Service protect Aaron Rodgers better than the Jets’ offensive line?
All-in-all, I feel like Rodgers being the vice president is highly unlikely, plus, he said he wants to keep playing football for two, three, or even four more years… but maybe he’s talking a different kind of football. 🤔 #IYKYK
Free Agency News
🏈The Baltimore Ravens’ backfield is reaching new heights. Get this. J.K. Dobbins, who tore his ACL last year and was the starting RB for Baltimore, is 5’10”, 210 pounds. Keaton Mitchell, who had a breakout rookie year, is 5’9” and 190 pounds. The Ravens signed Derrick Henry to a two-year contract worth $20 million. Henry is a 6’3'‘ bruiser who was 240+ pounds. GOOD LUCK AFC NORTH.
🏈 The Pittsburgh Steelers are bolstering their defense, which was too reliant on T.J. Watt, and signed Patrick Queen to a 3-year $41 million deal.
🏈Sam Howell was put on notice by the Commanders, who are likely going to draft a quarterback. They just signed Marcus Mariota to a one-year contract.
🏈 The Texans traded for RB Joe Mixon after the Bengals announced they would release him. The good news for the Texans is that if Mixon has anything left in the tank, it’s only going to cost them under $6 mil for this year.
🏈 The Saints haven’t done much except let Jameis Winston go. They did sign LB Willie Gay to a one-year $3.75 million deal, though.
🏈Darnell Mooney, a receiver who can be described with the “sometimes maybe good, sometimes maybe sh*t” meme, signed with the Atlanta Falcons. Pair him up with Captain Kirko, and maybe you’ll have more good weeks than bad with Mooney.
Speaking of Kirk Cousins
🍗 What’s going to happen with his KFC finger-licking good campaign? Seeing as Chick-fil-A started in Atlanta, they better sign that good ole Christian boy to a deal where he convinces everyone to eat mor chikin.
BRB, I need a spicy chicken sandwich.
NBA Scores
🏀 Anthony Edwards scored 38 points last night in what I could consider a worse loss for the Clippers than a big win for the Timberwolves. The T-Wolves won 118-100.
🏀 De’Aaron Fox led the Sacramento Kings to a big win over the Milwaukee Bucks. Fox had 29 points, while Domantas Sabonis had 22 points and 11 rebounds. The Kings won 129-94. Giannis had 30.
Although the Bucks lost, you’ll need to watch this Andre Jackson highlight.
Andre Jackson Jr.'s head was ABOVE THE RIM on this putback slam 😳

🏀 Jayson Tatum scored 38 points, and the Celtics defeated the Jazz 123-107 in Utah. The Celtics just keep rolling as they went 3-1 on a West Coast trip.
🏀 Josh Hart had a big night as the NY Knicks got a revenge win against the 76ers in another low-scoring affair. The Knicks won 106-79. Hart finished with a triple double with 20 points, 19 rebounds, and 10 assists and Jalen Brunson had 20 points as well.
Some Big #’s In The NHL
🏒 The Buffalo Sabres got a 7-3 home win against the Detroit Red Wings. Defenseman Bowen Byram had two goals in the win.
🏒 The Montreal Canadiens shut out the Columbus Blue Jackets 3-0, and Cayden Primeau made 41 saves
🏒 Connor Bedard had a big night in a 7-2 win where the Chicago Blackhawks beat the Anaheim Ducks. Bedard finished with 1 goal and 4 assists.
🏒 Miko Rantanen had a 4-point night as the Colorado Avalanche beat the Calgary Flames 6-2. Rantanen finished with 2 goals and 2 assists.
🏒 It was the Marchessault and Eichel show where the Vegas Golden Knights got an OT win against Seattle. Marchessault scored 2 goals and Jack Eichel scored the OT winner for Vegas.
